Can-Am Racers Earns Wins in GNCC, TORN, and LACC Series

Can-Am ATV and side-by-side vehicle racers earned numerous wins and podiums this past weekend during national and regional races across North America. Kyle Chaney won the XC1 Pro UTV class with Maverick 1000R side-by-side vehicle at the John Penton Grand National Cross Country race in Ohio. Can-Am Maverick racers also scored wins in the Texas Off-Road Nationals, Louisiana Cross Country Series and a solid second-place finish at the SCORE International Baja 500.

“Our Can-Am Maverick 1000R and X ds Turbo racers took advantage of the unit’s unbeatable performance to earn wins in different series, including the Ohio GNCC, where we earned another XC1 Pro UTV class podium sweep. And the Murray Racing team earned a very solid second-place at the Baja 500,” says Jeff Leclerc, Racing Project Leader, Can-Am.

Defending 2014 GNCC UTV XC1 Pro class champion and current points leader Kyle Chaney won his third straight race with his No.1 Chaney Racing / TurnKey UTV / Can-Am Maverick 1000R after his win at the Wiseco John Penton GNCC in Millfield, Ohio. Jack’s Excavating / Can-Am racer Mouse Pratt and Can-Am / JB Racing / Houser Racing driver Tim Farr completed the Can-Am podium sweep. Maverick 1000R drivers “Digger” Doug Gust (second, XC2 Pro Sport class) and Richard Travalena Jr. (first, Amateur Limited) also had good weekends in Ohio. Renegade 800R 4×4 racers Bryan Buckhannon, the current 4×4 Pro class points leader, and Zac Zakowski finished second and third, respectively.


SCORE BAJA 500

The Can-Am / ITP / Murray Racing Maverick MAX X ds 1000R Turbo, piloted by Derek and Jason Murray was second in Class 1900 at the SCORE Baja 500 held in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, to earn valuable championship points with only two rounds remaining in 2015. Cory Sappington (Desert Toyz / Can-Am) earned fifth place in the class.


REGIONAL


Can-Am Maverick racers competed in both the LACC and TORN series, earning several class wins and podiums. Can-Am Maverick X ds 1000R Turbo racers Dustin “Battle Axe” Jones and Shane Dowden went 1-2, respectively, in the Pro A class at the LACC in Fancisville, La. In Edgewood, Texas, Hunter Miller beat brother Cody Miller for the win, as the two X ds 1000 Turbo racers finished 1-2 in the TORN UTV Pro class.
