    2014 Mud Nationals Aerial

    ATV.com Contributing Editor Rick Sosebee is in the thick of things this week at the 2014 High Lifter Mud Nationals deep in the heart of Texas.

    We’ll be getting a full report after the event, but in the meantime here’s some aerial video Sosebee took of the makeshift town that gets created every year for Mud Nationals.

      Rally on the Rocks Group Ride

      We attended our first Rally on the Rocks in May of last year and it was one of ATV.com’s highlights of 2013. Rocky Mountain ATV/MC is giving you a chance to attend the 2014 version for free.

      Rocky Mountain ATV/MC has announced that entries are now being accepted for its annual Rally on the Rocks UTV contest. Riders interested in winning a prize package that involves attending the Rally on the Racks event in Moab, Utah are invited to enter online.

        Yamaha Viking AIMExpo

        You can expect Yamaha to have a major presence at AIMExpo 2014.

        Yamaha Motor Corporation, USA has signed on as the first OEM participant for the 2014 American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo). The event is scheduled for Oct. 16-19 at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center.

        Yamaha was also the first OEM to commit to last year’s inaugural AIMExpo.

          The Sierra Off-Road Riders Association (SORRA) is hosting its first annual six-hour endurance race on May 17, 2014 at Chappie-Shasta OHV Park.

          Just 10 miles northwest of Redding, Calif, the Chappie-Shasta OHV area offers over 200 miles of roads and trails on approximately 52,000 acres for off-road enthusiasts. Elevation within this area ranges from 600 to 5000 feet with a wide variety of topography, soil, and vegetation types. The southeastern portions offer rocky and challenging terrain, while the more remote northwestern portions offer scenic views of Mt. Shasta, Lake Shasta, and the Trinity Alps. Camping is available adjacent to the staging area below Shasta Dam for a minimal fee.

            Paiute Cabin Fever Ride

            It’s been a mild winter in near Marysvale, Utah, so the Paiute Trail Adventure Series is hoping off-roaders are eager to get our and ride this winter. The first annual Cabin Fever Ride is scheduled for February 22 and will include a full day of riding with plenty of food and prizes.

            “If you haven’t seen the Paiute Trail with a little dusting of snow, this is your chance,” says the Jamboree Organizing Team. “We are excited to share the Winter Splendor of the Paiute Trail with those who are willing to layer up and come out for a good winter ride.”
