For years, the Sportsman 500 has been the worlds best-selling automatic ATV, offering riders reliable performance, superior power, the proven Polaris automatic transmission (PVT), On-Demand true 4-wheel drive and independent rear suspension delivering the industrys smoothest ride and highest ground clearance. The new Sportsman 500 H.O. has a number of new features. At the top of the list is a new High Output Polaris 500 engine with 20% more power, creating the most powerful ATV in its class. Also new for 2001 are longer lasting brakes, easier steering and a lifetime limited belt warranty.
The Sportsman 500 H.O. is available in camo green, red, and yellow, as well as popular camouflage patterns, found on two new 500 H.O. Special Edition models. The Sportsman 500 H.O. Ducks Unlimited Special Edition features Advantage Wetlands Camo. The Sportsman 500 H.O. Remington Special Edition has Mossy Oak Break-Up brand camo. Both 500 H.O. Special Edition models also feature extra accessories as standard equipment, including front and rear bumpers and rack extenders.
