Josh Frederick second in Pro class

With rain inundating the desert southwest for most of the leading days to the World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS) opening round at Speedworld MX Park near Phoenix, Ariz.; it appeared the race would be a muddy mess. However, the rain stopped just in time to limit the mud and actually enhanced the race course. In the end, Team Motoworks / Can-Am DS 450 EFI ATV racer Josh Frederick was able to finish second in the pro class, while his teammate, Dillon Zimmerman was fifth.

“I plan to stay consistent and put the Can-Am back on the podium at round two,” says Frederick. “I’ve been training hard because I really want to win back that championship this year.”

“Team Motoworks / Can-Am team is hungry to win back the WORCS championship and Josh’s strong second place finish is a good start to that goal,” says Jimmie O’Dell, Racing Manager for Can-Am ATVs at BRP. “It is nice to get this first race out of the way and now we can concentrate on consistent finishes by all the racers on the team this season.”

Josh Frederick started the season on the podium.

In the amateur ranks, Cole Henry raced his Motoworks DS 450 to the Pro-Am win in his WORCS debut. Henry is a regular on his DS 450 back east in the AMA / ATVA ATV Motocross Nationals and will be racing the WORCS season as part of the Motoworks team.

Cole Henry picked up a win in the Pro-Am class.

“I’m really thankful to be a part of the Can-Am Motoworks team this year and be able to win the first race of the season for them,” says Henry.

The next round in the WORCS championship is February 27-28 near Primm, NV.
