Riding dirty for a good cause

It usually doesn’t take much to convince the ATV riders to get a little dirty – in face it’s what we like best. At Dirt Fest 2009 you can ride your ATV while helping raise money for a good cause.

An entire weekend of riding dirty has been organized to help those diagnosed with breast cancer. Dirt Fest takes place July 24 to 26 in the beautiful hills of Monticello, looking over into the Scranton, Penn. area. A breathtaking view is promised from the event or your campsite.

Trail riding will be done of thousands of acres of private property so this is a rare opportunity to ride land you’ve never been able to before.

All proceeds of the event will benefit the Pink Ribbon Riders who directly financially assist both men and women diagnosed with breast cancer.

This three-day event is open to men and women – you must be at least 14 to participate. The cost is $75 per person and you can register on-line at PinkRibbonRiders.com. The event features trail riding, drag races, wheelie contest, ATV decorating contest, live music, silent auction, raffles, giveaways, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and a bonfire on Friday and Saturday night.

An optional price program is offered to those who wish to raise additional donations for the cause. Every $500 raised helps one man or woman diagnosed with breast cancer. For each level of donations you reach you are added to the drawing for a prize.

• $50 for an HMK USA back pack
