The event will showcase the talent White honed in the Mickey Thompson Stadium Series, where he won the title in 1983, 1986, and 1989. White is now the team manager for Team Monster Energy Kawasaki, which has three riders competing in the invitation-only ATV Open: Josh Creamer, Keith Little and Russell Shumaker.
“I’m scared out of my mind,” says White. “I haven’t ridden a three-wheeler in 100 years! My riders will be laughing at me because most of them weren’t alive when I raced three-wheelers.
“Seriously, though, this is such a cool opportunity to go out in front of the crowd. There are always some guys in the crowd that raced three-wheelers and I’m sure they’ll get a kick of it. It’s an honor to do this in front of the ATV crowd, and the two-wheeled crowd, as well.”
The Second Annual Steel City AMA Pro ATV Open will feature Pro racing on Saturday and a full card of Amateur racing on Sunday. Tickets start at $30 for adults and $15 for children 6-11. Children five and under receive free admission. For more information visit the official site.
