New quad is fully dedicated to motocross conditions

KTM has introduced the latest models in its ATV line at the Motorcycle Fair in Barcelona, Spain.

The new SX model ATV series, according to KTM, represents the entire researchand development effort of the Austrian manufacturer. Two new SX models, the 450 and 505, are both ‘ready to race’ and fully dedicated to motocross conditions.

KTM says it has created the perfect motocross ATVs, with remarkably low weight in combination with wider front and rear dimensions that provide unmatched handling on any MX track. To keep the center of gravity as low as possible, KTM introduced a newly designed fuel tank.

Specifically developed WP suspension elements are another highlight of the new quads. They feature a wide range of adjustments, most of which, according to KTM, revolutionize the industry. High and low speed compression adjustability is available both in the front and rear and crossover design is also included in the front and rear.

Available with two different engine displacements, the KTM SX ATV is high revving and incredibly powerful. Unlike the XC models currently being used on the Can-Am GNCC Series, the SX models do not feature a reverse gear, thus saving weight.

The new SX quads also feature a big airbox with easy filter access and a race-proven Keihin 41 mm. KTM topped it off with Maxxis Razr MX tires, rear Douglas beadlock rims and nerf bars as well as a protective cover for the headlight. The SX also has the same industry leading Magura front brakes, Chromoly frame, hydraulic clutch, Magura handle bar and the same ergonomics as the XC models.
