Third straight championship for Suzuki

Not all the competition in the AMA Pro ATV Motocross Championship takes place between the riders, as the top ATV manufacturers vie for the Manufacturer’s Cup, as well. Team Suzuki has secured the crown for the third consecutive year.

The team has many reasons to celebrate heading into the final round of racing, as it has not only earned the 2010 Manufacturer’s Cup prior to the final two motos, but its two riders, Josh Creamer and Dustin Wimmer, are the only two riders in contention for the 2010 AMA ATV Motocross Championship.

“With all the competition in ATV Racing, Suzuki is proud to win the manufacturers cup once again,” says Pat Alexander, sports promotion manager at American Suzuki Motor Corp. “We have an excellent team made up of hard working mechanics, drivers and riders who allow Suzuki to maintain this prestigious award.”

Suzuki’s National Sales Manager, Rod Lopusnak, is proud of winning the coveted Manufacturer’s Cup.

“2010 not only marks the third year in a row that the QuadRacer R450 has won the most races, but it comes during our celebration of the 50th year of international racing,” says Rod Lupusnak, Suzuki’s national sales manager. “We are very proud of this achievement as it demonstrates just how good a product this sport ATV is, as well as the kind of commitment Suzuki has made to the sport.”

The Manufacturer’s Cup is calculated based on the best moto finish for each machine in each moto, looking at only the machine’s brand to allocate points. Heading into Loretta Lynn Ranch, Suzuki currently has 477 points, 62 points over runner-up, Can-Am.

The final round of racing will be held at Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN on August 15-16.
