PPS
By Jonathan Reece (I am an Owner) on Aug 31, 2018I have owned three Polaris atvs, a 2010, 2013, and 2016. I refer to them as PPS, Polaris peice of shit! All have had major mechanical failures before reaching the 2500 mile mark. I am 65 years old and meticulously take care of them. Polaris doesn't give a damn about their product once it goes out ... the door! I have since dumped all of of these PPS's and bought Suzuki's. Polaris,........KISS My ASS!

Rock solid 4X4 - Get one now!!!
By Smoky the Bear (I am an Owner) on Jan 10, 2018Its 2018 and I still have never had any issues whatsoever with this ATV. I am meticulous about maintenance and have changed battery and spark plug and oil but outside of that nothing! Still original tires! They last forever. If you take care of it then it will take care of you! will do 60mph. ... 4 wheel drive mode is a beast - only ever got stuck once, and it was because of thick clay mud and I literally just sunk like quicksand. You will not be disappointed. Love this badass 4 wheeler.

cheap parts
By Joseph Haver (I am an Owner) on Mar 25, 2015So bought my new atv 2 years ago. 2013 sportsman 500 ho and never would start that good and got worse and wouldn't stay running. Took it in and took them almost 2 months to figure out valves needed adjusted. Not even 1000 mile. Now I have 1500 and front diff seal leaks and bushings are shot and ... wheel bearings. The warranty only covers bearings and seal. Not sure quality is number one in there books. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone.

Pleasantly surprised
By Rocket (I am an Enthusiast) on Apr 29, 2014I have had several atvs over the years. Honda and yamaha. I love them and think they are very fine machines! With that said I went out and bought a polaris sportsman 500 HO. I was reluctant to accept the changes and overall style that comes with the polaris, so I took it for a deep woods tryout ... that included mud bogs and large rocks, steep hills and long stretches of flat trail. Since that trip I have changed my tune torward the polaris. It's now my preferred machine when I go 4wheeling. It has great comfort, ease of driving, and great power. I love my new Polaris.

2013 500 H.O.
By jaremy (I am an Owner) on Jan 04, 2014I have owned 4 brand new atv's the first being a 2002 honda rancher 350, my whole family has honda's and they are great machines, but now days i think that the atv market has pretty much perfected these machines it doesnt really matter what brand, but i can tell you this, i sold my 2002 honda rancher ... to my aunt and never looked back, i'm probably the traiter in the family but im the one that pulling those hondas out when the get stuck, and its quite often. after i sold my honda i bought a 2005 polaris sportsman 700 Twin EFI Dale Earnhart Edition, now the thing that i liked about honda is they had a pretty low first gear and i didnt know how the low gear on th sportsman was going to be going down hill, but it was lower than honda so i could concentrate on driving rather that riding my brakes. The next thing was the suspension, polaris has perfected the suspension, i could ride all day and was still ready to ride, while my dad and uncles were crying about there backs. i finally stepped up to a 2008 sportsman 800 H.O. I will never part with that machine there is more power there than i will ever need it has the engine braking system and the active decent control, you have to get on the throttle to go down hill, try that on a honda. Now about the 2013 Sportsman 500 H.O, I bought this for my wife, she had to have a Polaris that was her chioce not mine, but i am quite suprised with the power it is lacking a few thing that i have on my 800 H.O. But still amazing, I read a review that these 500's are loud, that guy is an idiot, i parked our 500 next to a rancher 350 they are the same. This is the one thing that i have learned about Polaris, they are to most competative with price, i purchased my wifes 500 H.O. for $5000+ Tax you cant even get a honda rencher 420 for anywhere near that, you getting more power and a more comfortable ride for a lot less money, an]ll the brands are dependable anymore so its pretty much personal preference now days, but the day i hopped on my first sportsman i was sold for life. I have been on the new sazuki king quad 750 the new can am outlander 800, i have ben on just about all of them and still would choose Polaris, but Can Am would be the next choice, but they are absolutly proud of there machines and that reflects in there price, and polaris stills has a better suspension. i hope that this was helpful.

5 stars
By kyle (I am an Owner) on Dec 31, 2013First atv I have ever bought and I don't regret it, reliable, fast and affordable. I was looking for a used and stumbled upon this for basically the same price new, a no brainer very nice bike. I find myself looking for stuff to do to it but besides a winch its got everything in one package.

Clunk Clunk Clunk all the way down the hill
By William (I am an Owner) on Aug 25, 2013This thing is the loudest 4 wheeler I have ever had, when slowing down this thing clunks like it's falling apart. Took it back to dealer to have it looked at and they say it's normal. If I had it to do over there would be a Honda Rancher in my garage instead of a Polaris. It might in up being the ... best 4 wheeler I have ever had, but for now I'll keep looking back to see what is falling off when slowing down.

Best out of All
By Steve (I am an Owner) on Jul 15, 2013My second 500 HO first was a 2010 this one is a 2013. I am an Auto Tech who started out as a Heavy Equipment Repairman years ago. I can tell you for the money there are nonne better that can even come close to a Polaris. On top of the the price alone should sell you on a Polaris. These machines will ... save your butt more times than you will be able to count. They truely cover up your mistakes with handle and control. The Engine and Drive train are almost bullet proof but keep in mind the world is full of idiots and morons who could knock the horn off an anvil will a rubber hammer. Don't hesitate this is the my only choice in an ATV.

2013 Sportsman
By Patrick L (I am an Owner) on May 28, 2013Snow blower broke down in the middle of winter. Needed something to move the snow so I purchased a 2013 Sportsman 500 w/ winch and purchased a plow separately. It worked very well, plenty of power, just not enough weight. I think since it's so light that it caused it to ride high in snow and get ... stuck a couple of times. One of the biggest selling points to me was it was by far the cheapest of the good quality ATV's. Very easy to use, wife uses it all the time and only messes up the winch. Good pick up and go, fairly comfortable seat. Steering could be a bit better. It's pretty quiet so neighbors don't complain. All around I like it, just wish I could have gotten it in bright Orange.

No more aching
By Dick Harris (I am an Owner) on May 01, 2013I am 61 years old and had a 2001 Kawasaki Bayou 300 4x4 that I used when I went hunting. Had some friends talk me into a trail ride at Hatfield McCoy trails in WVa. My little bike did great and went everywhere the others did, but I was utterly wore out after 40 miles, and my two friends with Sportsmans ... were pretty fresh when we got back. I decided right then to get a 500 HO when we got back from the trip and what a great decision it was, The difference is like night and day. Great ride, handling and performance

First polaris
By Bill Westfall (I am an Owner) on Apr 28, 2013All I can say I've always been a Honda man. But I'm 55 yrs old and just wanted something dependable for any given time. After letting my 16 yr old son talk me into the polaris sportsman 500, we'll he was right. It's all I needed. So if you want a all 4x4 and plenty of power and a little speed (just ... when you need it) at 55 yrs old it will do what ever you want. Just keep your 16 yr old off it. Shame on Honda. When are they going to figure out 4 wheels is better then 3. I may be old but if I can keep my 16 yr old off this machine it will last me the rest of my life. If your my age better get you a Polaris sportsman 500......

Best in its class!
By Dan (I am an Owner) on Jan 11, 2013Not sure about all the rankings but here's my 2 cents. The Polaris is fast, smooth, and goes into a true 4wd with all 4 wheels. Some others in this rating are only 3wd. Only one wheel on your front axle has power in other words. And people pay thousands more for this atv? Not me. Do your research. ...

Awesome machine for anybody!
By Gary L (I am an Owner) on Jan 10, 2013When I weighed my options to buy me a 4whlr, was really a no brainer. I could buy a good used one or for a little more I could buy a new 500 HO, 0 miles, w/warranty. I chose the new route. Its got plenty of power, rides great, comfy seat. And the awd system is cool. No switching in & out of 4x4, ... machine does it for you. One of my friends who thinks his atv's brand(starts with an H) is tops just found out the hard way. These owners are so narrow minded its unreal! He thought since he rides a H, he could make this certain hill climb in 2wd. Well, after flipping backwards, a 3 day hospital stay, 3 mos outta work, and now pins in his shoulders, he found out differently. Had he been riding a Polaris w/the awd system, it would have automatically switched to 4x4, and made the climb. Sometimes it too late to try & switch to 4x4. Anyway, I don't work for Polaris, I just ride them and would recommend them to anybody!
