  • 2012 Arctic Cat 550i EFI 4x4
By John Anderson (I am an Owner) on Jul 23, 2017

I have now owned a 550 for a few years and it has done very well. I mainly use the 550 for towing trailers, pulling logs, checking fence and trails around the property. It pulls heavy loaded trailers great in low and is quick on the go in high. 4x4 is great and is easy to use with the flip of the ...

  • Questionable
By Jeremy in GA (I am an Owner) on Dec 27, 2015

Baught a new cat in '12, ran great with no issues until late '15.

6" of Water/mud(nothing new or extreme) and the damned thing starts making a nasty noise at idle. As long as it's balls out, it's good but won't idle. Doesn't like to come out of gear either.

I've buried it to the seat ...

  • Excellent Quad
    By 1896884271 () on Apr 16, 2013

This is my first quad and I could not be more happy. It has plenty of power and rides very nice. I have only owned it for about a month but so far no quality issues at all.

  • cat used up 6 of its 9 lives
By Doug Charboneau (I am a Writer) on Aug 07, 2012

As a previous cat owner I thought it was time for a new one so I bought a 2012 550i wow great or so I thought. Brought the bike home the first night and the nightmare began.

No 1 wiring harness had a break in it.

No 2 flywheel drive actuator went.

    No 3 clutch bearing went.

    No ...

    No 5 belt went.

No 6 while clutch assembly replaced.

All of this happened within 6 months and 312 kms. Did I get a lemon or what.

    Disheartened Doug

  • 2012 Arctic Cat 550i
By Matthew Schwab (I am an Owner) on Dec 08, 2011

Very impressed with the machine thus far, the 550 has plenty of power and handles great. The fuel injection offers smooth starting however does not have a pull start in case the battery dies. I look forward to many of years of riding this machine.
