  • The good and bad.
By Reg (I am an Owner) on May 23, 2016

Good: The plastic over the engine is removed similar to a saddle. Around 6 removable buttons, 6 rubber grommets and a couple of notches and its off. It is not obvious. I check all the fluids the day after purchase. Some low quantities after receiving the unit and oil fill port is under the plastic. ...

The "Auto-Trans" is growing on me. The shift points seem pretty good. I have not tried it wide open yet. But, it is already in the final gear by that point.

    The bad:

1st couple of miles (1-4): there were a couple mysteries that I could not figure out in the button shifting. My daughter explained a few things that seamed odd. ... Can't be. Well, hears the bug: when stopping on a angle (up or down), the ES can be come hard to shift the transmission. With a little rocking, it will go in a gear. Sometimes, the shifter refuses to shift (up or down). The display show a dish line. My unit started shows a "Gear" light. Unit OFF then ON (per manual), does not always work. Now with 24 miles, it is headed to the shop for the shifting issue. I do not have a recommendation on work around: may be shift to neutral before stopping. Hard to believe getting stuck in the back yard grass because I can't shift in to N. Hint: squeeze the right brake and start the engine ..... ANY GEAR.

Honda recommendation: Add the winch controllers into the wiring due to the lack of space on the factory wiring.... the storage becomes the first place to pack relays and winch fuses v.s plugging to common locations.

Presently, I would not recommend. I do not have time to debut some thing that should just work. Honda?--need a test driver. Retiring in the next 5 years.
