  • polaris general is awesome
By Jamie (I am an Owner) on Feb 21, 2016

I have owned several Polaris Atvs and snow mobiles. I also currently own a ranger 800xp that I bought new.

My dealership told me about the general this fall and called me when a unit arrived to test drive.

My first impressions were that it was very well designed and well built. The ...

    The seats are very comfortable.

The cargo bed is smaller than my ranger but plenty big enough for tree stands and chain saws.

Upon starting it, the sound of the 1000cc motor is very throaty. Engine sound is even better while in use but not overpowering.

My dealer is located in a rural area and has a nice course set up in very steep terrain.

The general took rough bumps and ruts very well.

Acceleration was great. Very quick and agile.

It went anywhere in 2wd including deep mud holes. The 4wd gave you added security on steepslopes at off camber.

The engine braking was automatic and was better than my full size diesel pickup.

    Needless to say.

    I bought it.

I am an avid hunter, small business owner and enjoy light trail riding.

I also checked the competition out before this purchase even though i always seem to lean toward polaris machines.

I liked the General better than can am. Honda. And Yamaha.
