Great ATV
By Russ Grizzard (I am an Owner) on Feb 22, 2018I bought the 2006 800 a few years ago. I have been nothing but pleased. I never owned a Polaris ATV before and was worried about it being belt driven. It has not been an issue. This machine has great power and handling ability. I will definitely buy another one when the time comes.

By Mario (I am an Owner) on Mar 27, 2012All i really have to say about this machine is that it's the best machine I have ever ridden in my lifetime, could not be happier when it comes to being a tough and very stable machine, power is excellent and rides like new every day i get out to hit the trails or go mudding with it.
Excellent ... Machine

Love love love this machine!
By Ishkabibble (I am an Owner) on May 19, 2011My husband bought me this model used; 5 years old with 700 miles on it, from an older gentleman who used it primarily to haul firewood in his back yard and we have been nothing but happy with it. It was well taken care of before we bought it and we changed all the fluids and the belt when we bought ... it. My husband is a mechanic and we have owned several ATVs but even someone with basic tools and some mechanical talent could maintain this machine. Anyone who knows anything about Polaris machines knows that they do need to be maintained, but the superior product is well worth it. And not for nothing, but we ride almost every weekend, spring to fall, and many of the guys we ride with own Polaris machines and they are all happy with them. And more than one of them never so much as checks the oil, but beat on their machine in four foot deep mud, over logs and rocks, hour after hour, week after week with nothing but the usual maintenance needed. So, about my 800 specifically. I love the power! It was a bit scary at first, but just like anything, you learn to make it work to your advantage and still be safe. The comfort and stability are unmatched. I feel a big difference in the actual size of the machine when compared to the pre-05 chassis. This makes the bike less nimble than others, but the added wheelbase is a definite advantage when crawling over obstacles or traversing washouts. And let's face it, I'm a girl, and even if I were a big burly guy, I wouldn't be tossing this bike around anyway. There are still times when I use my weight or body position to maneuver the bike, but there are so many more times when I can just sit back and let the throttle, suspension, ground clearance, and wheelbase work for me. I do have aftermarket tires, bumpers front and rear, witches front and rear (which I've only ever used to pull other people out) and other creature comforts like hand and thumb warmer and storage boxes. Honestly, the bike is everything I could ever want with the exception of power steering. In the next year or so I plan to buy a new 850 with power steering and my husband will take over the 800. So long as it is maintained and not ridden by an idiot, which is true of any ATV, this bike will not disappoint. And all the guys just drewl over it!
