  • Excellent Machine / Excellent Value
By Bill Hamann (I am an Owner) on Oct 07, 2010

Ride, handling, power, comfort, utility and excellent value these machines have it all as far as I am concerned. My brother and I sold our 07 Polaris 450s because we found these tow left over 10's for $5900 here in Eugene Oregon. Love these machines, highly recommended!

By Brent Bapp (I am an Owner) on Jun 11, 2010

I just bought a 550 sportsman the ride is incredible. I do a lot of trail riding and do not even have to swerve around obstacles anymore. This thing is unstoppable with all the ground clearance its hard to get stuck even with stock tires on it. I am very impressed with this machine. It even get close ...

I look forward to testing this 5 year warranty i purchased.

  • 2010 Polaris 550 EFI
By Phil Trivilino (I am an Owner) on May 10, 2010

Well, I'll start by saying I visited a local Polaris dealer about 4 weeks ago. I was looking for a new ATV and checking out all the different dealers in my area.

This Polaris dealer had everything including a few left-over '09s. I spent 4 hours there test driving every '09 and '10 model Sportsman ...

The '10 550 EFI impressed me the most and far outperformed the '09 and the 500 HO. Both performance handling were superb. For me, the EPS did not seem to impress me that much. The 850s were ruled out just because I didn't want, desire, or need that additional power.

The ergonomics of the 550 (with the engine mounted longitudinally) were astounding. Comfort was/is amazing. The dual a-arm suspension, front and rear far surpassed the MacPhearson Struts of the 500. Steering is light and kickback is almost non-existant. The transmission is smooth and responsive. The automatic 4-wheel drive works, it just plain works. I didn't have the opportunity to experience the ADC mode, but believe I will find it useful at times. The engine starting (EFI) was flawless and operation is smooth, from idle to full throttle.

I don't know what more anyone could ask for in a utility ATV.

I purchased the 550 and have been enjoying the ride since.

Compared to other makes, the Polaris is an excellent value.
