Great wheeler
By Stockburn (I am an Owner) on Mar 25, 2017Bought this wheeler for my wife, but ended up using it more then her. I was surprised at the size of the wheeler, it is much bigger then I expected and has a lot of power for a 400. Very comfortable ride and I've only had to use the winch a couples of times, AWD is great. Only issue I have with ... the one I bought are the tires, only 4ply and they already have several plugs. I have only had it a few months but think it was a good purchase.

Touted as great "value", but a bit frustrated
By Andy E (I am an Owner) on Feb 01, 2014Well, I bought (1) 2012 and (3) 2013 Polaris 400 HO and I can truly say "Entry Level" is the word! The first thing I won't bother with is the Carb version. I have rode fuel injected, and they start/run much better. I use the 2012 for plowing and therefore constantly go fwd and rev.. when going ... into High, there is often a bit of grind as the unit finds the right spot. One 2013 had to go back after the first 75 mile run because it would just stall when idling. They said it was our fault and must have got water in the engine area - a nice little $175 charge for a new ATV. Well, BS! SERIOUSLY! Then, the reverse 4x4 doesn't work on two of them. You have to press the button a bunch of time and turn the wheels as it's slowly moving back and will finally lock. The other two work perfectly. Just went past the short 6 month warranty so I'm not dragging them in only to get a $400 or whatever charge on each of those. Basically, I'm bummed by my decision. I wanted so bad to like this ATV because it looks cooler than the others and the price was right. OH, and don't forget to look at what a PITA it is to do an oil change! I spent just under $500 for all 4 just in the first F'N oil changes because it is such a b*(&$%!
Then, two batteries have completely failed in the first 6 moths. But the dealer hooked them up to his little machine and said they weren't bad enough for Polaris to warranty...
Well, I personally will never buy Polaris again. They don't

So Far, So Good.
By Dave Stump (I am an Owner) on Aug 28, 2013Just got it yesterday and rode it til dark. First Automatic model I have owned as i still have a couple of smaller Yamaha BearTrackers, but other than it's steering is a little tighter than they are, It is a super smooth and fast riding machine.

colorado ultimate ATV
By dan gilmore (I am an Owner) on May 17, 2013the 400 HO is the smoothest-most capable 4 wheeler that you can get for the rocky mountain region. it has great ground clearance and is the smoothest ride out in the atv world. i have had mine for 6 months and has not been babied, no trouble or complaints. my best friend and I purchased 1 the same ... day and we have all out wars at times and go exploring. cant go wrong dan gilmore
