  • King Quad battery life
By Tony (I am an Owner) on Sep 10, 2012

I bought my King Quad new in '07. I dont ride often and usually the battery ends up dead within a few weeks of sitting. Within the first two years, had to replace the battery 3 times. Once I put it on a battery tender, everything is fine. The EPU is draining the battery. I've read it can be ...

Another issue is the belt "bark". The belt will "bark" at times when taking off. Again, I've researched this and its a well known issue with the Suzuki King Quad due to the constant tension on the CVT. Not a big deal and you shouldn't worry if it only does it occasionally. If it s a constant issue, get belt checked ASAP. New OEM belt is over $200 or you can get an aftermarket for $60 to $150 at places like "Motorcycle Superstore" on-line. Always a good idea to carry an extra.

Ive had this ATV in all kinds of different terrain ie; snow, mud, mountains, etc.. Its held up great to everything I throw at it including riding two-up and plowing snow. I'm a big guy (290 lb's) and I've had no problems with power.

  • Great Quad
By Ryan Sharratt (I am an Owner) on Jul 08, 2012

I have lived in Kodiak for 20 years. This is the best quad for these conditions up here. I put a 5' plow on it in the winter time and it keeps up. She gets a little hot after a full day. We go fishing and camping with this quad and she always starts, always goes (ITP Mudders). This is a ...

  • 2007 King Quad Expectations, Meet Reality
By JetRx (I am an Owner) on Aug 09, 2011

I have been a Suzuki KingQuad owner for well over 15 years. Based on this familiarity I expected the newer king to be of the same durability and reliability. News Flash: It is not!

First problem is the exposed front outer CV boots. More exposed than on any other make of machine. ...

When the King Quad is fitted with oversized tires and the front drive is heavily loaded, and/or the front wheels begin to hop the cases and castings around this bearing cap have been known to fail and break.

The symptoms are loss of front drive with a chattering, ratcheting sound from the engine unit. The front drive appeared to disengage on me three times. Not sure if there is any permanent damage.
