Safety should be of paramount importance to ATV riders and one way to help improve your chances of walking away from a crash on the track or trail is to wear a neck brace. Fly Racing has recently introduced the all-new second generation Valor Neck Brace engineered by Leatt.

“The Valor combines state-of-the-art Leatt neck brace technology with FLY Racing’s cutting edge graphic design styling,” Fly Racing says in a release.

New features for the Valor included a new sculptured, split front for improved comfort and fit; new lower front section for improved helmet clearance for looking down and to the sides; new one-piece, fracture engineered CoreFlex rear thoracic strut for improved comfort and fit; new on-board three-angle rear thoracic strut adjustment that requires no extra parts; new body-matched rear thoracic strut angles.

The Valor, which will be available in December, retails for $359.95 and comes in small, medium, large or extra-large. Color options include black/white, red/black, blue/black, and orange/black.

Free on-line video games are, for the most part, disappointing. So it was with very low expectations that I clicked on a link for Box10 ATV 5. What can I say…I’m can’t turn down anything ATV-related.

My main complaint with most of these games is that they’re just too easy. At first it didn’t seem as if ATV 5 would be any different. The first few levels of this 10-level game went by in a flash. Sure, I crashed and burned a time or two, but mostly because I was trying to rush through it so my co-workers wouldn’t make fun of me for playing.

If you’ve got a Kymco UXV 500 in the garage and want some protection from the elements for foul-weather riding, take a look at the Kymco-designed hard enclosure.

According to Kymco, the hard enclosure features an integrated modular design for simple installation. The kit comes with complete molding and weather stripping and is constructed of TPO, Lexan, steel framing and automobile-grade glass.

Moose is continuing to build up its lineup of ATV parts and accessories and has released replacement cylinders and a Legacy gun rack.

Replacement Cylinders

If you happen to be looking to replace your damaged or worn OEM cylinder, Moose Racing has got you covered. These Replacement Cylinders are made from cast aluminum and are nickel silicon carbon plated. While giving a stock OEM appearance, the Replacement Cylinders allow for greater heat dissipation with the extremely durable, low friction bore surface. Looking to expand its family of off-road tires to keep up with consumer demands, ITP has added new 30-inch tire sizes to its BajaCross and UltraCross lineups.

For the BajaCross, ITP has added a big, bold 30x10R-14 size. “This beast not only provides greater ground clearance to help a machine get over tougher obstacles, but because of a new, lightweight design it also offers better flexibility for an all-around boost in grip, handling and ride comfort,” ITP says in a release.

This new tire features an 8-ply rating and strong radial construction. ITP’s extended-life rubber compound and overlapping tread pattern are designed to provide a smooth, predictable ride as well as slow wear characteristics. As well, ITP says stepped lugs provide consistent tread edges as the tire wears, for predictable performance throughout the long life of the tire. Wraparound lugs provide improved shoulder protection, while a super deep Rim Guard offers what ITP calls “the best wheel lip protection in the business.”

Knowing ATV and UTV owners often like to dress out their four-wheeled friends, Kawasaki offers a wide selection of parts and accessories to fit its machines. For September, Kawasaki is featuring front and rear Cargo Boxes, Headlight Guards, Seat Covers, and Bed Liners.

Brute Force 750 and 650 Cargo Boxes

If you’re looking for some extra storage space on your Brute Force ATV, consider Kawasaki’s front and rear cargo boxes. Caliber Single Gun Rack

NRA by Moose Utility Division delivers hunters the Caliber Single Gun Rack, which gives riders mounting options to your handlebars or ATV cargo rack rails. GBC Motorsports has launched a brand new DOT approved tire for Utility ATV and UTV applications. Dubbed the Kanati Mongrel, the new tire will be available in a variety of sizes, with the first size now available from select tire dealers.

GBC borrowed the tread pattern for the Kanati Mongrel from its affiliated light truck tire, the Kanti Mud Hog. The Mongrel features an aggressive diamond-shaped lug pattern that makes is designed for a variety of off-road terrain.

With a 600-pound load capacity and an 87 mph “N” speed rading, the 8-ply Kanati Mongrel is built tough.

“This combination of durability and performance makes the GBC Mongrel the first true all-purpose tire built specifically for utility ATVs and Side-by-Side UTVs,” GBC says in a release.

“In recent years, UTVs and Side-by-Sides have emerged as some of the most popular off-road vehicles,” Yoshimura says in a release. “We were excited for the opportunity to put our knowledge, skill, and craftsmanship forth and develop performance products for these machines.”

Yoshimura has been working closely with Yokley Racing to develop and test UTV products, including the RS-4 full system exhaust. The RS-4 is CNC mandrel bent using 304 stainless steel tubing. Headers feature an over-sized step tube design for maximum power throughout the entire RPM range. The two-into-two header design converges at the muffler inlet, providing ample exhaust flow. The RS-4 muffler features a 304 stainless steel CNC rolled and robot welded canister shell and a carbon fiber end-cap. The full system includes the RS-4 stainless steel muffler with a carbon fiber end-cap, stainless steel headers and tailpipe, installation hardware, and step-by-step instructions.

Aluminum roof kits, roost guards and aluminum wind deflector kits are also available.

Moose Utility Division has released a pair of new off-road products – a UTV Gun Rack and an ATV Rear Drop Basket.

UTV Gun Rack

Moose Utility Division has released a pair of new products – a Front Receiver Hitch for Polaris Rangers, as well as a UTV Electronics Holder

Front Receiver Hitch

Moose Utility Division gives Polaris UTV owners a way to attach a snow plow or other items with the Front Receiver Hitch. The hitch accepts standard 2” trailer hitch type receivers as well as use with the Meyer Drive Pro UTV plow available from Parts Unlimited. The Front Receiver Hitch mounts to the frame under the front differential and includes the mounting hardware and hitch pin. Kawasaki is well aware that ATV and UTV owners often spend quite a bit of money on accessories. Wanting to keep those dollars in house and out of the aftermarket, Kawasaki offers a selection of accessories designed to fit its machines.

Brute Force 750 Full Coverage Brush Guard

According to Kawasaki, it’s Full Coverage Brush Guard offers maximum protection for the front bumper and headlight area. Retailing for $269.95, this Brush Guard is made of tubular steel and features textured black powdercoating.

Baja Designs has recently introduced new A-Pillar mounts for the Polaris RZR XP 900. These mounts are designed to secure a Baja Designs 30” Stealth LED light bar at the top of the RZR, offering a sleek look with an unobstructed view from the cockpit.

According to Baja Designs, the complete mount kit is designed for an easy bolt-on installation and no welding is required. This kit, which retails for $64.95, works with the stock Polaris RZR cage.

The Mountaineer Run, held at Marvin’s Mountaintop in Masontown, WV, was another new stop on the 2012 Grand National Cross Country schedule, but for many it had an old school feel. Round seven of 13 was held on a technical, rough, rocky, semi-muddy course not far from the familiar Snowshoe GNCC site. Plus it was also just good old fashioned hot, which all added up to a challenging weekend for man and machine. But Team ITP was up for it, and notched a number of victories using a variety of ITP QuadCross and Holeshot tire setups.

A most impressive display of skill and endurance was put up by Patrick McGuire (Yamaha). The Valencia, Penn. native blasted out of the first turn in first and never looked back, leading the XC2 Pro Am class from start to finish, securing his second win of the season by nearly three minutes. It was good for ninth overall out of 186 top competitors in the afternoon wave of racing, and moved him back into the points lead.

Finishing second in XC2 was Matt Hanna, backed by Greg’s ATV and running ITP tires on his Yamaha YFZ450. It was Hanna’s third podium appearance of the season, which puts him in fifth place in the class standings.

According to QuadBoss, the new covers provide reliable all-weather protection for your UTV. Constructed of quick drying, heavy duty, coated polyester, QuadBoss says its covers are designed for long life and maximum water repellency. They feature a UV-resistant coating and double stitched interlocking seams for added strength.

You can always throw a spare tire in the bed of a Kawasaki Teryx, but if it doesn’t leave you much room to carry anything else. STI Tire & Wheel has released its all-new Silverback-XLite tire, designed for riders who like to play in the mud.

“Mud enthusiasts around the country spoke, and we listened,” STI says in a release. “This new tire is based on one of the most successful mud tires of all time—the Gorilla Silverback—but the XLite is more accessible and useful to more riders.

The Silverback-XLite takes most of the features of the original Silverback and puts them in a lighter and more value-oriented package. According to STI, it still delivers maximum traction in deep mud from its distinctive, aggressive, widely spaced tread pattern, but with less bulk. The lugs range from 1.125 to 1.25 inches tall depending on tire size. STI stays this allows for smoother, more versatile performance when not slinging mud in your favorite bog. It’s easier on the machine, and when comparing costs, it’s also much easier on the budget with prices ranging from $99.95 to $176.95. This tire was rolled out at the recent High Lifter Mud Nationals in Texas and STI claims the tires were selling out as fast as they could be brought out.

Arctic Cat is aiming to keep owners of the high-performance Wildcat 1000 away from the aftermarket by adding to its line of Wildcat accessories. More than 50 new custom accessories have been introduced for the Wildcat, including a Soft Cab Kit, Flip-Up Windshield, and Aluminum Light Bar.

Retailing for $649.95, Arctic Cat’s new Soft Cab Kit offers an integrated solution for increased rider comfort from the elements. The kit includes the roof, back panel and doors, each constructed from 9-oz., heavy series Surlast fabric. Lightweight aluminum frame material adds structure to the doors and roof, while the door windows and back panel can unzip and be rolled up when desired.

Polaris has come out swinging in 2012, posting record first quarter sales of $673.8 million, an increase of 25 percent from last year’s first quarter sales of $537.2 million. Incredibly, this marks the seventh straight quarter of record sales for Polaris, dating back to the third quarter of 2010.

Off-road vehicle (ORV) sales led the way for Polaris, increasing 30 percent from the first quarter 2011 to $504.6 million. According to Polaris, this increase reflects strong market share gains for both ATV and side-by-side vehicles, primarily driven by new product offerings like the Ranger RZR XP 4 900 and increased sales in Polaris’ military business.

Side-by-side vehicle retail sales once again increasing significantly, while ATV retails sales also increased. North American dealer ORV inventories for the 2012 first quarter were up slightly from the first quarter of 2011, as additional side-by-sides were shipped to meet increasing demand.

QuadBoss has introduced its new line of drive belts that are designed to allow your ATV or UTV to run cooler and last longer. The belts are available in three styles based on the engine displacement of the unit.

The SEL ATV drive belts are recommended for engine displacement of 500cc and lower. These belts are manufactured from rubber reinforced polychloroprene and p-aramid cord, which QuadBoss says ensures superior strength, enhanced dimensional integrity and longer belt life.

Always on the cutting edge of UTV accessories, DragonFire Racing has officially released a line of billet shifter kits for the Polaris RZR family. CNC-machined from solid billet aluminum, the new Girder and Aero style shifters look fantastic and offer the much-desired combination of light weight and strength.

“Frankly, we were amazed at the response something as simple as a shift knob elicited from dealers when we offered a sneak peek at the Dealer Expo back in February,” says DragonFire GM Scott Highland. “We had to accelerate production to make them available in time for riding season.”

ATV and UTV enthusiasts looking for a way to protect their vehicles from theft now have a new option in the marketplace. Inilex has released SkyLINK PowerSport, an advanced vehicle recovery system that uses a combination of GPS, wireless and satellite technologies to track and recover stolen motorsport vehicles in real time.

“Powersport vehicles have two strikes against them when it comes to theft – they’re easier to steal than cars because they can be placed in a truck bed, and they’re more difficult to recover because they can be easily hidden and their parts can be quickly altered,” says Michael Maledon, CEO of Inilex. “SkyLINK PowerSport tackles both of these issues by tracking its location whether it’s running or not, and ensuring the theft is reported as a crime in progress, triggering police to take immediate action.”

ATV riders north of the border will be able to stay a little warmer this year. Symtec Inc., a Minneapolis company that manufacturers Heat Demon heated accessories, has partnered with Canadian distributor Kimpex of Drummondville, Que.

Through this partnership, Kimpex will have access to the full Heat Demon line, which was previously sold under the Symtec brand in Canada. This will further open the North American market for Symtec and the Heat Demon brand. Canadian ATVers will have access to a variety of heated accessories, including seats, grips, and apparel.

STI Tire & Wheel has signed on to be an official sponsor of the 2012 WORCS program, but its involvement goes much farther than just hanging banners.

STI will be providing all ATV and SxS class racers with a generous contingency program beginning with Round 3 of the series in Lake Havasu City, Ariz.

“Use STI Black Diamond or Tech 4 XC tires on the way to the top of the results sheet, and you will be rewarded for your hard work,” STI says in a release.

ITP is getting behind ATV motocross racers in a big way in 2012, offering up $128,000 in contingency awards in the 2012 ATV MX Championship Series.

In addition handing out cash to racers, ITP will be in attendance at every event to provide product and technical assistance.

ITP “MX Bucks” are being offered to MX National participants who use ITP Holeshot, QuadCross MX or Turf Tamer tires on all four wheels and prominently display ITP decals on the front and sides of the ATV. Tech Inspection must be performed and signed by the ITP representative at the trackside support display. Completion of only one “MX Bucks” form is required to be eligible for the contingency program for the entire 2012 National MX season. “MX Bucks” are redeemable at full face value towards the purchase of tires direct from ITP.

GBC Motorsports is expanding its popular line of Dirt Commander tires by adding two new sizes this year (one front and one rear).

“The Dirt Commander is one of GBC’s best selling products, and with good reason,” GBC says in a release. “This all terrain tire is extremely durable and puncture resistant, and features deeply siped tread for exceptional traction in all conditions. QuadBoss has introduced a new line of High-Performance Radiator Cooling fans as well as OEM Replacement Cooling Fans.

“QuadBoss’ new High Performance Cooling Fan will make your quad run cooler and last longer,” QuadBoss says in a release.

According to QuadBoss, the increased air flow created by its radiator cooling fans will help prevent overheating often caused by towing heavy loads or crawling through deep mud. HCR Racing has unveiled long travel suspension kits for the Kawasaki Teryx 4 and Polaris Ranger RZR XP 4 900.

The Teryx 4 long travel kit retails for $3,999 and comes with King 2.0 reservoir shocks, two-inches longer wheelbase, and more than 14 inches of suspension travel.

HCR Racing’s RZR XP 4 900 retails for $5,999 and features King 2.5 reservoir shocks, boxed arched radius rods, more than 17 inches of suspension travel, high clearance boxed front A-arms, and four-inches longer wheelbase.

Yoshimura R&D of America has introduced a line of performance exhausts and hard parts for the UTV market.

The Eichner family is working with WORCS to help raise money for Joan Eichner, wife of ATV racing legend Doug Eichner. Joan has been battling cancer over the past few years and the family is looking to the WORCS community and the ATV racing community as a whole for support. Just because Polaris is coming off of a record year for sales, don’t expect the Minnesota-based manufacturer to slow down. In fact, Polaris seems to have every intention of growing – notably its Parts, Garments, and Accessories (PG&A) and Small Vehicles businesses.

Polaris has announced the hiring of Steve Eastman, former president of Target.com, to lead its PG&A business. According to Polaris, this appointment allows Scott Swenson, who previously ran both PG&A and the Small Vehicles business, to focus his attention on establishing a strong Polaris presence in the $4 billion small electric vehicle market.

“Our Small Vehicles and Parts, Garments and Accessories businesses are vital to the company’s success and we are committed to pursuing growth in these markets,” says Scott Wine, Polaris CEO. “In order to achieve these aggressive goals, we need talented leaders dedicated to each business. Hiring Steve to lead PG&A, thereby allowing Scott to devote his efforts to Small Vehicles, puts two strong executives in position to drive outstanding results.”

PG&A can be a huge money maker for manufacturers. In fact, Polaris told us last year that the average Ranger RZR customer spends $1,200 on Pure Polaris accessories, with 75 percent walking out of the dealership with at least a roof and windshield and 50 percent adding a bumper or brushguard. Polaris doesn’t expect that trend to slow down in 2012.

It’s hard to think of a reason that you’d need even more power than the robust Can-Am Outlander 1000 already provides, but sometimes it’s fun just to see what is possible. The folks at Muzzys are trying their best to push the power envelope with a new dual exhaust system for the horsepower-rich Outlander.

“This full stainless steel system features tuned, equal length head pipes that merge into a large collector and out into dual oval mufflers,” Muzzys says in a release. “Front and rear integrated oxygen sensors allow for the easy addition of an air/fuel meter for easy tuning. Canister finishes are available in mirror polished, brushed or black coated. For noise sensitive areas the mufflers include a modular quiet core and spark arrestor.”

For the less adventurous, a single muffler version and slip-on system is also available.

Yamaha has launched a promotion with GoPro to give away free HD HERO2 Motorsports Edition cameras to Yamaha ATV customers in the first half of 2012.

Through the unique promotion, anyone who buys a 400cc and above Yamaha ATV by the end of May will receive a free GoPro HD HERO2 (a $299 value) from Yamaha. Full details are on Yamaha’s website.

The HD HERO2 camera can be worn or mounted on just about anything utilizing GoPro’s numerous mounts and accessories.

Yamaha’s budget-friendly Grizzly 300 may not seem like a machine the aftermarket would get too excited about, but the folks at STI Tire & Wheel obviously feel differently.

STI has pre-mounted Black Diamond ATR tires (23x8R-12 in front, 23x10R-12 in back) to a set of 12×7 HD2 alloy wheels. STI says this combination—ready to bolt on and go—provides much more performance and style to the Grizzly 300. OEM dimensions are 22-inch tires on 10-inch wheels.

As 2011 comes to a close, the innovative minds at Arctic Cat have introduced four new accessories for the thrilling Wildcat 1000 UTV – a half windshield, spare tire carrier, bumpers, and rear trunk bag were all designed specifically for use in the Wildcat.

Half-Windshield

The all-new Wildcat Half Windshield (P/N 1436-740, US$159.95/C$184.95) from Arctic Cat aerodynamic styling that moves wind up and over the occupants to minimize dust from swirling in the cab. It’s made of polycarbonate, with snap-clamps that offer quick and easy installation or removal.

Even though the stock engine in the Polaris Ranger RZR XP 900 is wickedly fast, some people just want to go faster. Fortunately Muzzys has stepped up with a big bore kit to please the go-fast crowd.

“The Muzzy 995cc billet aluminum big bore kit for the XP 900 is at the top of the field in terms of performance, quality and overall value, Muzzys says in a release.

The precision machined billet cylinder features a closed deck designed for improved cylinder rigidity and better head gasket sealing. The design also incorporates larger water jackets for better cooling.

Destination Polaris has partnered with TMW Off-Road to build the “Sleeper!”

TMW Off-Road, located in Mesa, Ariz., took a RZR XP 900 and built one of the slickest sand machines on the market. The Project X machine comes complete with K & T Performance Turbo, Lonestar Racing suspension, Elka Shocks, TMW Intimidator roll cage and front bumper, OMF bead-lock rims and tires, plus tons of extras.

GBC Motorsports has announced its 2011 Holiday Giveaway, which will run through the end of the year and features a variety of interesting prizes.

The three-round contest will take place over the course of three weeks, from Dec. 5 through Dec. 26. Each round will accept entries from Monday through Sunday, with winners being announced the following Monday. GBC Motorsports enjoyed a busy but exciting weekend with plenty of action from all around southern California and Nevada, including another round of FNL Fall ATV MX Series, the Pro Armor Fall Fun Ride, and the Best in the Desert Henderson 250.

As part of the FNL Fall ATV MX Series at Milestone MX Park in Riverside, Calif., GBC Motorsports is raffling off a set of their Bomb Squad MX tires at each round of the series. On Saturday, Dec. 3 at Round 3 of the series, Nick Walker became the most recent tire raffle winner. Victor of the 450 Intermediate class, Nick walked away with a brand new set of Bomb Squad MX tires from GBC Motorsports. The next and final round of the FNL Fall ATV MX Series at Milestone MX is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 17.

According to LTI, the long travel kit for the Teryx4 ($4,995) is 100 percent bolt on and requires no drilling or modification to the vehicle. The boxed arms are constructed of 4130 Chromoly plate and fully TIG welded to create what LTI calls the toughest A-Arm on the market. The arms feature 7/8″ spherical bearings with stainless steel tapered pins to increase the strength and durability of the suspension on the Teryx4.

Known for its line of performance suspension seats, Twisted Stitch is branching out. With the popularity of the Polaris RZR line of side-by-side vehicles in mind, Twisted Stitch has released a line of RZR doors that bolt right in and compliment the style of the RZR.

The RZR doors from Twisted Stitch feature a .090 steel tube frame that utilizes grade 8 mounting hardware. According to Twisted Stitch, the door skins fit seamlessly to the edge of the door bars, leaving no gap between the panels and bars. They also use stainless steel button head bolts to mount the panels to the door frames for an added touch of style and durability. The doors come fully assembled, to make installation as easy as possible.
