With easy access to screens and endless online entertainment, it can be hard to convince your kids to go outside and play. Of course, if your child has a four-wheeler, then getting them outside is not a problem. Our Youth ATV and UTV buyer’s guide will show you every machine available so you can find the perfect one for your favorite young rider.

If mom and dad have an ATV or UTV of their own, there’s a good chance the little ones will want one that looks just like it, not some cheap toy you’ll find at your local big box store. The good news is that many of today’s Youth ATV and UTV models look just like the ones for us big kids and they are built to last.

Not exactly a UTV, the Polaris ACE 150 (10 years old and up) is an ATV/UTV hybrid that features a single seat and a roll cage. Polaris Ranger 150 EFI

Polaris Ranger 150 EFI Youth UTV

Let your kids work as hard as you do with the Polaris Ranger 150 EFI Youth UTV (10 years old and up). Perhaps the safest Youth four-wheeler on the market, the Ranger 150 comes with Youth Ride Command, which features geofencing capabilities that let you set ride boundaries, as well as limit speeds and requires a pass code that gives you control over who operates the vehicle and when it is used. Based around a 150cc fuel-injected engine, the Ranger 150 is equipped with seat belts, safety nets, two youth ATV helmets, adjustable steering wheel, eight inches of ground clearance, and a cargo bed that can hold up to 50 pounds of gear. Polaris RZR 170 EFI

Polaris RZR 170 EFI Youth UTV

You’d be hard pressed to find a kid that wouldn’t love to own a Polaris RZR 170 Youth UTV. This is the only Sport UTV made for kids (10 years old and up) and it features a 169cc single-cylinder engine with electronic fuel injection, seat belts, safety nets, six inches of ground clearance, five inches of suspension travel, tilt steering, LED headlights, and a speed limiter than can be adjusted by mom and dad. Can-Am DS 70

The Can-Am DS 70 (6 years and older) comes equipped with a 69cc four-stroke engine with a continuously variable transmission and specs include 4.5 inches of ground clearance, 39-inch wheelbase, and 6.3 inches of rear suspension travel. Can-Am DS 90

The Can-Am DS 90 (10 years and older) is essentially a larger version of the DS 70 and is powered by an 89.5cc four-stroke engine. The Can-Am DS 90 X (10 years and older) Youth ATV is a more performance-focussed version of the DS 90. Where to Buy Youth ATV Helmets


If you do decide by buy your youngster a Youth ATV, please don’t forget the protective gear – especially a youth ATV helmet. Yes, these youth four-wheelers aren’t nearly as fast as adult models, but even a low-speed crash could result in serious head trauma without a helmet.

The good news is there is no shortage of places to buy Youth ATV helmets. Your local dealer is a good place to start, but online retailers are easy to find. Rocky Mountain ATV/MC always has a huge selection of Youth ATV helmets available and most of them are pretty affordable.
