Host of upgrades found across Teryx family

Ever since the Teryx was first introduced for the 2008 model year, Kawasaki has been making consistent tweaks and improvements. The result is a machine that gets better almost every year. For 2016, Kawasaki continues that tradition with a host of updates designed to improve the riding experience.

The most noticeable change is a redesigned front face designed to give the Teryx a more aggressive look. In the photo below you can see how the new 2016 Teryx LE on the left looks compared to the 2015 model on the right. The hood is flared up and the sides and generally looks beefier.

The updated 2016 Kawasaki Teryx LE (left) offers more aggressive styling than the 2015 version (right).

You can also see the front bumper has been swoops up slightly higher on the sides, but doesn’t appear to cover as much of the radiator as it is lower in the middle. Instead, it looks like a bar has been built into the body of the Teryx in front of the top of the radiator. It doesn’t look quite as sturdy as the bumper, but we will reserve judgement until we see it in person.

The comparison photo also shows the addition of two more headlights. All four headlights are high-intensity LED lights (LE and Camo models only). Base Teryx and Teryx4 EPS models also get bumped up to four headlights, but they are standard halogen lights.

Limited Edition and Camo models feature four high-intensity LED headlights.

For another styling upgrade, both Teryx and Teryx4 LE models receive 14-inch cast aluminum wheels.

Also new for 2016 is a tilt steering column, available on all Teryx and Teryx4 models. It allows the steering wheel to be tilted to a position to suit the driver and can be moved out of the way to ease cabin access.

Tilt steering is now included on all Teryx models, as is a new thicker steering wheel.

Staying with the steering wheel, it is thicker for 2016. Kawasaki says it is designed to be more comfortable in the driver’s hands.

A big improvement for 2016, the driver’s seat can be adjusted without tools. This allows drivers of different sizes to comfortably get behind the wheel without reaching for a toolbox.

Also new for 2016 is a restyled dashboard layout that incorporates four accessory switches, allowing Teryx owners to operate a host of Kawasaki Genuine Accessories. The dashboard can also accommodate an audio system. As well, a number of storage pockets were added to the dash for added utility.

Kawasaki upgraded the dashboard of the Teryx models for 2016.

Finally, Kawasaki says it has optimized the shock settings on the FOX Podium 2.0 shocks. We’re not entirely sure what that means, but Kawasaki tells us it revised the settings after R&D testing. The shocks are still adjustable for spring preload and 24-way compression damping, so owners can easily tailor the settings to suit their needs.

Pricing

Pricing for the base 2016 Teryx EPS starts at $12,999, while the Teryx Camo retails for $14,299 and the Teryx LE goes for $14,999.
