2010 Arctic Cat Super Duty Diesel 4x4

This machine is a workhorse..it is not meant to race and jump. It is very stable and solid. I have had mine for just about a year and use it for around the farm pulling a trailer and for hitting the bush trail riding and hunting. They are slower then a gas atv but they sip fuel. My machine does 68km ... per hr so about 42mph. I didnt buy it to chase kids on the trails it is a worker.Starts everytime and has been perfectly reliable. I live in northern Ontario and its -30 for 4 months so i put a trickle charger on it and it is stored in the garage and it always starts. The power is there but not quite as much as i would of thought...due to its heavy weight (844lbs)it is a little more sluggish on big hills then i would have thought. Also with a CVT tranny you cant really drop a gear. Overall well worth the cost which was $8200 out the door for a brand new 2010.

Don't buy this if your intent is to make it do what it wasn't made to do! This is a workhorse machine that can work all day and night sipping fuel like no other. I bought this machine because of my love for diesels. I knew it wasn't fast, I knew it was big, and I knew it would be tempermental in ... the cold. But it's also very stable, and with the lack of speed, I feel safer allowing my kids to drive it than if I bought gas version. The play on it all weekend on one tank of fuel. Add a block heater to it and keep a maintenance charger on it in the cold and have no problems with that any longer. Low end torque is there to pull. Forget the measley AC rating, this will pull much more! There are a few things you can do to it if you want to make it more fun too. You can adjust the injectors, the throttle response comes alive, bigger tires give you a little more top speed but without regearing your never gonna break 50mph! This was meant for a lifetime of hard work people, read the specs before you buy, don't complain when it doesn't live up to what "you" wanted it to be. Heck the engine last 10000 hours before scheduled overhaul! It does what it's supposed to do and can be made to do much more.

We picked the diesel 700 cat because the fuel economy and the extra power it should provide. We use it as a 2 up cruiser machine. and also to pull a sleeper caravan weighing hundred and 40 kg we could not have anything bigger as the Arctic cat can only pull 192 kg on the road. The first time we tried ... to start it the battery was flat it does not like the cold weather. Managed to get a new battery off the dealer. The thumb throttle sends your hand to sleep after 50 miles I asked if they would fit a twist grip. No was the reply as the diesel engine has to have a slack throttle cable. Does not like wet weather the flasher unit starts buzzing the electrical system cuts the engine out and now the headstock come lose. performance on the road is dismal. It does not like hills it will travel no faster than 42 miles an hour. It is the most uncomfortable quad I have ever riden, your backside goes to sleep after the first 20 minutes. I have yet to tow our caravan I have not picked up the courage and suspect it will fail miserably on Hills. The fuel economy is good. Remember when you buy an Arctic cat you don't get a 7 pin plug that's an extra hundred pounds or so had athumb warmer which takes the skin off your thumb.
