Good gear , lots of users here in Nova Scotia
By Serge menard (I am an Enthusiast) on May 12, 2017Seems the same spelling challenged writer produced the previous reviews or there's a crazy coincidence going on. Lots of commander owners in this region- riding, plowing, hunting, commander excels in all and is a great used buy.
Too many shill reviewers trying to undermine this well built ... Canadian product.

Commander 1000 scarey
By Daryl Loreth (I am an Owner) on May 29, 2013Have a 2012 commander, biggest mistake I could have made. Cannot keep belts on it, always broke down, cannot get any help from dealership in Red Deer Alberta. That business should lose there license. To everyone DO NOT BUY one,,Daryl

Very happy
By John (I am an Owner) on Apr 16, 2013I have had my commander for three years now and I am 100% satisfied with my investment. Lots of power, climes any thing that's in my way and mudding is a blast! I have hauled two moose out of the bush and many other animals and I have never had a problem. But it was hot in the cab so I put in a ... heat Sheild and she cool now.
Done lots of mods and am very happy with my machine.

not great
By 1523932083 () on Sep 14, 2012I just purchased a commaned 1000 after hearing how great BRP products were susposed to be. I am satisfied with the performance but as indicated in previoius reviews the noise from the rear end and the heat from the console is really a disapointment. You have to howler to talk to the person beside ... you at 40 mph. The heat and the dust coming up through the console is severe. This is the first BRP that i have bought and it will be the last. For 18000. this should be better thought out than it is.

Lots of bad things about this machine
By Robert Leib (I am an Owner) on Jun 18, 2012Wish I would have read the other reviews before I dropped $20K on this machine. Where do I start? Let's go point by point.
1. Noisy - Really noisy in the cab. Dealer says it is because I have a windshield installed. I need to wear ear plugs or I feel I will go deaf running this thing. ...
2. Dust comes up through the gear shift area. It is like someone turned on a sand blaster and just sprayed you with sand and dust.
3. Heat. It feels like someone is holding a hair dryer on you while you ride.
4. Service. Our machine had a bad rubbing sound from the moment we got it home. Noticed it at 2 hours. Called the dealer at 8 hours as it became unbearable. Took one month to get a service appointment. Was told it is the rear differential and drive shaft. BRP was negating warranties if you put on wheel spacers and different tires so this may not be warranty. They are holding my machine hostage unless I pay $1600 for service or I wait until BRP decides if it will honor it's warranty. This machine is brand new. Would never buy another BRP product.

best side by side yet
By nick (I am an Owner) on May 02, 2012I purchased a 2012 commander xt 1000 about a month ago and since have driven it 400 miles and put approx 16 hours on it. Prior to this I owned a 2009 Polaris RZR-s, and prior to that a 2008 Rhino 700. The fit and finish on this machine is much better than the polaris and on par with the yamaha. ... The performance, comfort, versatility, and features of this machine far surpass the rhino or the RZR-S. So far I love it. I put 2500 miles on my RZR-S and 4500 miles on my rhino. WE'll see how this machine holds up to those miles before I make my final impression but so far, this has been the best side by side I've ever owned.

Can-Am POS
By mike (I am an Owner) on Apr 25, 2012We had two of these on our last trip in Utah, weather was 90 % outside both went into limp mode after crawling out of a little canyon, driver and pasenger were covered in dust coming up from the floor boards, heat in the seating compartment was probably 110%, YES they are fast but as for rock crawling ... and trail riding I will stick with the Yamaha Rhino or the Arctic Cat 700.

disappointed
By greg lorensen (I am an Owner) on Apr 10, 2012Bought 2012 commander on 3/27/12 in flagstaff az at borthland motor sports. Drove wife and myself 3mile in the forest on a graded road. returned in one hour totally disappointed in the machine and the horrible noise from the cvt rear-end, The dust coming up through the gear shift on the center console ... was also bad filled our eye behind our sunglasses. The heat in the cab is more than i like on a 60 degrees day. so i called the dealer back asked if i could change it for a 2-up ATV. The dealer said that the commander was not worth more than $10,000 to them. I said you are telling me that you sell these machine to people at a price of 14,369 plus extended warrenty and then wont even work with the customer> YES is the Answer. here we are . I will sale this piece of metal for nothing.. dont buy any motorcycle atv or UTv in flafstaff az. you cant talk to them logily
