Thrill Ride
By Joe (I am an Owner) on Oct 30, 2013I loved riding this machine, it is the first ATV I have owned where it could out-ride me before I could out-ride it. No matter the situation it always seemed to have more power or speed when I wanted it.
Handling is flat and power slides with ease. Fit and finish and quality of this machine ... is just as good as any of the Japanese manufacturers. It'll take a jump but remember that this is a big heavy machine, its not quite as graceful as a 2wd sport quad.
I bought my 2007 Can-Am Renegade 800 from a dealer winter of last year. I had high miles when I purchased it (6000kms) which concerned me a little but the price was right and the fact I was buying it from a deal gave me peace of mind.
We get a ton of snow and that prevented me from really riding it until spring. A constant oil leak alerted me to an issue with the drive shafts and bearings inside the transmission that were needing to be replaced. This was going to be a costly repair, nearly half the value of the machine and so I decided to sell it. I do not attribute these issues to the quality of the machine, but to the way it was maintained and the high mileage.
I am now looking for another machine, and I would buy a Renegade 800 in a heart beat, unfortunatley I can't find any in my price range and may have to purchase another brand.

Best quad I've ever owned
By Dave (I am an Owner) on May 26, 2011I have a 07 Renegade 800 and I love it. I never had any significant problems with it, it's simple to operate and there's plenty of power. It is the perfect combination of a sport and 4X4. It could go where raptors can't. The only cons I can give it are that it weighs a bit more and valve adjustments ... can be a tad grueling. Also it requires a lil bit more maintenance and harder clean up as it has more little spaces for dirt, mud and rock to get jam packed into. But other than that, I love it. If you go mud boggin and offroading, you don't want to hamlet with a manual clutch and it's just simpler and better than anything I've ever rode.
