Outstanding machine
By Jeremy Bryan (I am an Owner) on Oct 25, 2019I have owned this machine for ten years now and have well over 6,000 miles on it. Mechanically it is VERY sound. The engine is smooth and has adequate power. Transmission or CVT has been excellent. It is comfortable, reliable, and relatively quick. It will do 70mph in the right circumstance. ... It is NOT a "sport" quad. It is heavy. The suspension is utilitarian, not sporty. The factory brakes suck, replace the stock pads with EBC sport carbon (red) pads and they'll be a thousand times better. Factory tires are iffy, making steering tough. Kenda Bear Claw HTRs are much smoother and will make it feel like it has power steering. My only mods are a UNI air filter, Dalton clutch kit, EBC brake pads, and the Kenda tires. The first CVT belt lasted over 5.000 miles and might have even lasted twice that long. The Gates carbon belts are good but no noticable improvement in performance or durability over the OEM belt. Change the engine oil, gear oil in differentials and transfer case, and clean the air filter annually and it'll last for decades.

Great Unit
By Mario Palandri (I am an Owner) on Jun 01, 2013I purchased the XT 650 4 weeks ago. Great machine with lots of power when you need it. Mine was secondhand when I bought it. I'm using it on my farm and I did 5 hours of spraying and it didn't miss a beat. Recommended for sure. I pair AU$8,000. Being a fam use I get the 10%GST back too, so a bargain ... bike.

Cadillac Quad
By Dale (I am an Owner) on Aug 30, 2012Excellent handling; very good power for a 650; excellent comfort. This ATV is not designed as a "balls to the walls" speed freak that the teenybopper groupies will flock to. It is designed as an ATV "Cadillac" with solid reliability and performance; while keeping your butt comfortable.

Disapointed
By Ted Kardos (I am an Owner) on Dec 16, 2011My Canam has been nothing but trouble. My wife and I did are home work before buying a wheeler and all the reports said can am was the way to go, so we purchased our first product and paid cash for it. within 200 miles I was having trouble. three weeks later and two three trips to dealer they said ... it was good to go. They said fuel pump not enough pressure. Worked for about 800 miles and oil in the air box, they said it was our fault don"t roll it on its top, the funny thing was it has never been on its top. We cleaned out air box and guess what oil in air box again dealer keeps saying don't roll it on it's top, but never haas been on it's top. Then transmission blows up and cranks the housing. We have warrenty and inssurece on the wheeler we just want it to run. Got knew trans and oil in air box again dealer says we abused it if using it is abuse then I abuse it but I Don't think so. still broke down. HELP!!!!!!
