All Around Great Machine
By 244678095 () on Dec 26, 2017All around very good machine. Good power. The biggest cons compared to the Polaris, the Polaris is smoother over rocky terrain, logs etc and seems to have a better 4wd system that scales obstacles more effortlessly. However, despite this I got the can am because the can am is the only mud ready machine ... that you can get as a 2 up.

A beast in the mud
By Leslee Wagner (I am an Owner) on Feb 20, 2017I've owned a Honda, Yamaha and CanAm Outlander XT. The XMR is, by far, the most versatile, fully equipped, stock atv on the market! The ride is that expected of CanAm. Compared to the XT, the suspension, which blows other manufacturers ATV's out of the water, is a bit stiffer (what one would want ... in a mud specific bike), but is also adjustable, so it can be softer for riding the hard-packed trails. When I looked at what it would cost to put an after-market snorkel kit, radiator relocator, and 30" Mudzilla tires, I found that the price of the XMR was actually going to save me money. The extra low gear gives this machine a great advantage when pushing through the deep, thick stuff. The only complaint I have is the speed limiter! One tip, replace the existing break pads with the centered pads offered under warranty by CanAm. Also, due to the amount of serious heat created by the 1000R V-twin, I installed a complete heat wrap around the exhaust.

Great quad
By Harvey Spears (I am an Owner) on Jul 26, 2016Awesome quad. Plenty of power. The only issue I have is the factory snorkels are not high enough and the air box is not sealed. Other then that best quad I have ever owned. I won't buy anything else. It has the smoothest ride I have ever felt
