WOW!!! What a disappointment!
By David DeNicola (I am an Enthusiast) on Feb 26, 2017I bought my 7yr old the ds90x because his cousins were ripping past him with their LT 80's, 2 strokes, and my son was on his Kawasaki 50. So I went to my local dealer and asked which 4 stoke 90 is the best and fastest quad out? The can-am DS 90X he said. Like a dumbass I took his word for it. The ... bike looks great the stance is incredible, shocks , tires, plastics, all look great. 1st day out my son super psyched to show off his new quad, and once again the 2 stroke LT 80s ripped him as if he was still on his 50. The worst quad ever. At least as far as 90s go. I'm selling it asap and go with a DRR 90 2 stroke!! The dealer should give me my $$$ back and buy me a beer for misleading me on this junk bike.

An excellent beginner ATV
By Patrick (I am an Owner) on Apr 21, 2016Very pleased with ours. One of the best things about this ATV is its ridability. The wheelbase is nearly as wide as that of an adult bike, which means two things - #1 the bike is nearly impossible to roll over, and #2 it doesn't fall off the side of the ruts that are made by adult size ATVs. The ... power is very smooth because of the CVT, which means no unexpected wheelies on uphills. It also has a very smooth ride so the kids don't get bumped all over the place. Power and speed are a bit lacking - as they should be for a bike for first time riders. We up'ed the ante on ours with an aftermarket pipe and we took the rear sprocket down a few teeth as well after our son was comfortable on it.
We did have a cog on the drive system fail. It was relatively minor to fix, and the part was a couple bucks. In the end, I think it was because the chain had too much slack and it caused undue stress on the part after my son landed from a jump and compressed the rear suspension with the throttle pinned... like 50 times during an afternoon.
We also had a rear fender get caught in the wind (while being trailered at probably 80+ MPH) and shear off.
Otherwise, we have been extremely pleased with this bike.

this is junk
By jason.s (I am an Owner) on Sep 07, 2015since day one this ds 90x had been leaking oil from the head, smoking from the exhaust and had piston slap really bad. it sounded like a diesel. the dealer fixed the leaking but it started leaking again in 1 week. I had to do a complete top end rebuild within 7 months. Also the transmission main ... shaft broke and i had to rebuild the entire gearbox. the chain tensioner broke off, the starter has been replaced 2 times, the teeth on the gear between the starter and flywheel sheared off , the factory brake pads wore out twice within 6 hours of riding. the only fix for that was to buy ebc pads. run this through any kind of water and you will be towing it home as water goes directly into the air box. this is the worst machine i have ever purchased. this machine was not raced or ridden hard. it is used for trail riding by a 7 year old

can am ds 90x
By Neal (I am an Owner) on Dec 24, 2014The worse atv I have ever seen in use. It looks great, but it is cheaply made. Had to have the starter replaced twice, spark plug replaced once, and the carburetor cleaned and put back together with less than two hours of ride time. Took it back the dealer and got a 250 instead. The repair guy ... said that can am should stop making the 50 and the 90 because of how cheaply made they are. I also have the 2015 renegade 1000 which is amazing.
