  • Great machines
By Aaron (I am an Owner) on Apr 17, 2021

I bought a 2019 and a 2020 for my boys and these are tough machines! The price is great and they are very durable. Both machines have been flipped (oops) and stood them right up and they haven't missed a beat. My friends and I collectively have about 6 of these cfmotos, 400's and bigger and they ...

So after some research, reading mixed reviews, and watching videos, i said screw it and bought two, one for me and one for the wife. These machines are amazing. We grew up with a Honda Fourman so tough competition.

That said, I have yet to get either one stuck. Some things to understand. ...

I have used the diff lock and wow!! Now to one of the comments, and some clarifications from videos.

    1. On the 18-19's they fixed the brake before shifting. Honestly if you look down where the shifter keylock is you can back that out if you have a 17 and older.

Also we have had issues where turning around on a trail with the front on a hill, the shifter binds up, not a big deal you just rock it a little and it shifts. My buddies polaris does the same thing.

For the heat comments, can-ams and polaris does this too. But the cfmoto has very large foot boards. Even at 100 plus degrees and wearing shorts, just put your foot towards the outside of the footboard and the heat won't bother you.

As a side note, i found that the tractor supply 2500# atv winch, bolts right on, and comes with eveything you need for around $120 usd.

We have ridden our on everything from forest service roads to rock crawling. They are great machines.

Gas gauge is a little off when you go down hill, but so are the other machines on the market.

I will say I was very skeptical of CFMoto, and other people balked when i bought them. But you let someone ride one and they too change their mind.

FYI, mine is NON ESP, but if you remove the front rack and access the fuse box, there is a pig tail already installed for an electronic power steering kit. You can get the 400 with ESP, but the dealers here don't buy them with it, i think most people would just buy a 500. If you are looking for a budget friendly machine but has Diff Lock, power ports, usb ports, trailer light connectors, 2wd-4wd selectable, and is a solid machine this is it.

A few Pointers> We live in high desert so it is very hot, when the machine has been working for a while, they tend to crank or not like to start, you just give it a little gas as it is cranking and it starts right up, that is the bosche fuel injection.

These thinks like to run high RPM, I generally run Low upto around 15mph and high gear after that. As a word of caution, they will do easily 40-45mph. We were at around 7000ft and was cruising at 45mph no issues. I didn't try going any faster.

Very hot on my right leg. Seems to overheat quickly. Does not turn very tight.
