The 2008 sportsman Polaris: the best ATVs I've ever owned
By Justin (I am an Owner) on Mar 03, 2020My father bought me a 2008 90 cc sportsman Polaris off the lot brand new. I used it everyday from 8 years old to 14. I was riding it at 6' tall and 220 pounds regularly it took me down any trail and did anything I asked of it. One of the best ATVs I've ever owned by far. I jumped it regularly would ... jump it and take it through deep water, the brakes ended up going bad because I would hold them and do burnouts. But that was the only problem I ever had with it. Constant wheelies as well.

Junk. Stay away from Polaris
By Kenny (I am an Owner) on May 27, 2014This thing is poorly made and less quality than a Chinese knockoff. My son has one and the whole rear swing arm fell apart and Polaris told us to drop dead. He almost got killed when it came apart. Google it . Ther are many people with Outlaws, sportsmans and predator 90's with the same issue. If ... this is American Pride no wonder it's being outsourced to China. Every weld split on it and my son weighs 50 lbs. It has only been ridden in our backyard. JUNK !!!!
The new ones are made the same way.

sportsman 90
By 346974056 () on May 03, 2011Bad do not buy, dealer nor Polaris will help you it has carb issues also battery will not last. Got a new 2008 sportsman 90 would not idle from day one, hard time getting it started to. Took it back to dealer charged $90.00 and did not fix the problem, they said to bring it back so they could get ... another $90.00 on a problem they could not fix . they say the carb on the 2008 model had issues . They also said to buy a new carb for $350 plus to fix the problem . Since it had carb issues they could not fix from day one, they should have gave me another carb, but they won't, my advice, stay away from Polaris and Berglund outdoors in Roanoke Virginia all together

08 Polaris sportman 90 Back Stealth
By Massachusetts (I am an Owner) on Jan 23, 2011We bought the 2008 Polaris Sportmans 90 Black Stealth Brand New Left over in 2009 for our daughter She loves it, it is her 3rd ATV she had a Green 2004 Polaris Sportman 90 Traded it in for 2005 Red Sportman 90 because they came out with Reverse in that model that year. What she really likes in the ... 08 Black Stealth is the new shape to the machine, She swears it is a bigger machine, it is wider then the other 2 she had, not to mention the color is really cool lookin! This machine comes with a bumper, front and rear Racks and is a 4 stroke. We have had to make some carburetor adjustments but other then that once this little machine worms up it runs great, She takes all the same trails as the bigger ATVs no problems, she is very comfortable Riding this ATV. We own 4 Polaris ATVs.

Disappointed
By Steve (I am an Owner) on Nov 26, 2010We bought a new Polaris quad last summer thinking that it would be reliable and fun. The opposite has happend,it has been a nightmare, it has been in the shop many times for uncommon repairs.First it has broke two drive chains, countless carberator problems and the biggest issue is when the welds ... in the rear swing arm and the motor mount welds commpletely cracked and left the quad unoperable. After several meeting and letters with Polaris they refused to admit there's a quallity control problem and blamed the bad welds on abuse. The repair cost is more than the quad is worth so we zero return on our $2500 investment one year ago. The quad was well taken care of. Polaris could not point out any damage on the quad that could be construed as abuse (dents, cracks, etc). They should be embarassed! I would not recommend Polaris to anybody, If they will not back up broken chains and faultly welds on a new quad, they will not back up anything! I'm very thankful my son did not get hurt when the quad broke in two!!
