Withstands punishment!
By Mongoose (I am an Owner) on Jul 27, 2011I bought this ATV new from a dealer and I've been riding it with all of it's original parts, and tires. I've only put about ten hours on the machine, but those ten hours have been worthy of a review. In the hills of WV, nice and easy "back roads" don't exist. I've driven this thing through water ... and mud that's three feet deep, and crossing what I would consider to be a river. This beast has a great deal of unexpected power and because of that, the driver may want to keep their tires a little under-inflated. This bike has taken me up some pretty steep, and rocky trails where there was no end in sight.
The only less than perfect thing I can write so far, is that along with all of the people I rode with one day, I too bottomed-out driving through this heavy muddy/rocky area that was extremely uneven; the mud was about three feet deep, very thick, and the entire area was rutted out and uneven with rocky debris. After the day had ended, I washed off the bike, and inspected the ATV. Turned out, the skid plate has this steel bracket that has four attachment points that descend about two inches below the skid plate; these attachment points allow the attachment of my snow plow. When I bottomed out, one of the two-inch attachment points bent about 1/4". Fixing it only took a slight pull with a screw driver wedged in the right place. Ironically, the skid plate or any other area under the ATV was unblemished, not even a scratch.
