Yamaha Teases New Sport UTV With Video
After months of speculation, we now have confirmation – Yamaha is coming out with a Pure Sport UTV. Yamaha revealed this with a short teaser video released on June 4.
While the video doesn’t give much away, it does show something moving very fast in the desert. We hear an engine humming and catch a brief glimpse of a UTV in a dust cloud at the end, before a graphic comes up that says “September 2015.”
Is This the Name of Yamaha's Pure Sport UTV?
As we wrote about in February, we are expecting Yamaha to come out with a pure Sport Side-by-Side in the relatively near future. We’ve been hunting hard for information to back up our thoughts and a recent trademark filing by Yamaha has thrown a little more fuel on the fire.
On April 9, 2015 Yamaha trademarked the name YXZ SS. While it doesn’t seem like much, we think it could be the name of the vehicle we’ve been waiting for. Let us explain why.

To help consumers get the most out of their machines, Yamaha is putting together a series of Sport ATV tech tip videos. The first video, which you can see below, smartly tackles the dos and don’ts of breaking in a new engine.
