2014 AIMExpo: Scorpion Helmets
Scorpion showcased a pair of new ATV helmet options at the 2014 AIMExpo in Orlando Fla., including one that would solve a problem we’ve had with many helmets.
The coolest feature on Scorpion’s new VX-R70 helmet ($269.95) is a shatter-resistant visor. We’ve broken more visors than we care to remember, but that may be a think of the past with this helmet. Scorpion showed us how the visor can be bent or squeezed and it bounces back to its original shape each time.
Of course, the VX-R70 offers a list of other features, including Scorpion’s AirFit liner inflation system, TCT composite shell construction, KwikWick II anti-microbial fabric liner, quick-change chin vent and titanium double D-ring. The VX-R70 is available in red, blue, silver and orange.
While the EXO-CT220 (starting at $139.95) doesn’t look like a traditional ATV or UTV helmet, Scorpion says it has been a hit with the off-road community. It features a SpeedView retractable sun visor with multi-position lever, KwikWick II anti-microbial fabric liner, quick-change ratchet system, emergency release system, speaker pockets and anti-roll-off system. The EXO-CT220 is available in gloss black, matte black and neon.
