Honda applies for 'Talon' trademark

A recent trademark application by Honda is the latest clue that a new Honda UTV is on the horizon. Honda applied for the “Talon” trademark on July 15 – specifically for a “Side-by-Side vehicles and their structural parts.” You can see the Honda Talon trademark application here.

While it’s difficult to glean much information from a name, Honda Talon certainly sounds sportier than Honda Pioneer. We asked Honda about the trademark, but were told that Honda can’t comment on any future products.

“We have and will continue to focus on the SXS segment as seen by our expansion the last couple years with our Pioneer lineup,” Honda told ATV.com.

Honda certainly has the ability to build a sport-specific UTV and we’d imagine a long list of Honda faithful would line up to buy one, but it’s awfully hard to guess what a manufacturer plans to do.

If the Honda Talon is indeed coming, our fingers are crossed tightly hoping it’s a machine designed to compete with top tier Sport UTVs on the market.
