Your mom was wrong...you can't have too much of a good thing

When the first Polaris RZRs rolled off the production line, the off-road community jumped all over them. Finally, a UTV built for going fast! From there, Polaris kept upping the ante with newer, faster machines until they reached the top with the RZR 1000. Of course, the aftermarket was all over these machines and turbo chargers became all the rage. Again Polaris, as well as Can-Am, took notice and released factory editions with turbos installed. The horsepower wars were on, and continue to escalate. But do we need to make the RZR Turbo faster? Of course we do! Let’s take a look at five ways to make your RZR Turbo faster.

Alba Racing ECU Programmer

It’s no secret that every machine rolls off the factory floor limited by its own electronics so it can meet ever guideline put forth by those skilled in the legal arts. A quick way to unlock the hidden potential of you Turbo is to get an ECU re-programmer and remap everything from how the power is delivered, to top speed and more. Sure, Polaris doesn’t want you to do it. My mom didn’t want me to take her sports car out and drag race it back when I was in high school either. But I wanted to go fast! If you want to go fast, start out by looking at an ECU.

K&N Air Intake

I convinced my wife I needed a K&N Air Intake on my truck by saying it increased fuel economy. It may have, but the real reason I wanted it is because it sounded cool and it made more power. A RZR Turbo needs air to work and the more air you can give it, especially clean air, the more power it’s going to make. It doesn’t get much cleaner than a K&N system and now they produce intake kits for machines like the RZR Turbo – simple, bolt-on horsepower.

Trinity Racing Dual Exhaust

Anyone who’s been around ATVs for a while remembers the insanely fast Yamaha Banshees Trinity Racing was known for building. They make fast things go faster – much faster. This bolt-on exhaust is made from 304 brushed stainless with billet machines brackets and exhaust tips. It carries a five-year warranty and comes complete with USFS-approved spark arrestors. Best of all, it’ll make your RZR Turbo faster and with more torque. Sounds good to us!

EVO Powersports STM Clutch Kit

It’s not cheap by any means, but if you want your RZR Turbo to go faster, you’re going to have to address the clutch at some point. You might as well have a custom set up that reflects how you drive and how fast you want to go. That’s the beauty of the STM clutch set up from EVO. It tailor makes the clutch for you to fit how you drive.

Carbon Tensile G-Force Belt

Any machine with a CVT belt system needs to have a spare belt along on the ride. But when you start modifying the machine to make it faster, the belt is going to take on more strain. When you’re looking at the RZR Turbo and making it faster, you should look at the belt often. These heavy-duty belts have carbon tensile cords woven in for added strength and durability, especially with high horsepower engines. Definitely a good idea when making your Turbo faster.

Derrek's love for all things ATV started when he was a mere 11 years old, growing up on his family farm. His mom gave him and his sister a choice - get a horse, or a three-wheeler. The sister wanted the horse, and Derrek wanted the ATV. Luckily he won out, and was soon burning up the trails on a Yamaha Tri-Moto 200. By the time he was 14, he had saved enough of his own money by working on the farm and in his folks restaurant to buy a new 4-wheeler. That happened the day he and his mom were driving past the dealership and saw 1987 Banshee. His mom had no idea what he was buying, and he never looked back. He's been riding ever since, and been writing professionally for many years. He has ridden all over North America and been behind the controls of just about every machine out there. And yes, he still has his 1987 Yamaha Banshee.
