2011 Rincon - Geat for play and, yes, work.
By Dar (I am an Owner) on Jan 25, 2012I've had my Rincon for more than a year now and so far so good, I'm very pleased.
I'm the former owner of three Polaris Sportsman atv's (2000 -700, 2004 - 500, and 2006 - 500) and a 2007 - 400 BRP Cam Am. So far the Rincon for me has been the much better bike than the others I've owned. There ... is not enough room here on this page to explain about all of the mechanical problems I've had with the Polaris's, and on none of them did I have more than 3000 miles. Most guys I know with Polaris atvs have a lot of trouble with them and they are not being used hard either, just normal everyday use. I didn't have much better luck with the Can Am, again big mechanical problems.
Knock on wood here but it seems I finally have an atv that is going to last. A year into it and I have had zero problems yet. I have about 1700 kms on it and I've used it for everything, from riding very tough trails to heavy towing. For those of you who are on the fence about buying the Rincon because it is more of a sport bike, you can get off that fence and buy the Rincon, because it can do the haevy work too, I've done it. I've spent part of the summer towing many trailer loads of 800 - 1000 lbs of sand for my daughter's play area, and it handled it easily. The last couple of days I've been hauling wood, (it's winter here now) and the sleighs that I use bring about a third of a cord of wood, part of the trail goes uphill, it handled it easily, even better than I thought it would.
The ride on the Rincon is very smooth, very easy to handle on the trail. I found the Polaris Sportsman a good ride, but it felt heavy and around turns it tilted headlong, the Honda is not like this at all, feels light and nimble, and seems to eat up the tight turns at speed.
I do have some cons though:
1. Not enough storage space.
2. Small front rack. We hunt moose and the rack is almost too small to put a quarter of moose on it. I'm going to put a extension on mine, maybe aluminum ckeckerplate.
3. Low gound clearance. I added a lift kit to mine to put it up two inches.
4. Stock tires are very lacking. Although I still have them on mine, getting a new set soon.
Polaris beats Honda on all four of these.
Things I'd like to see added:
The four things above plus a really low gear with four wheel lock differential for those really hard places. Would love to see that added.
I love this atv, it's done everything I've asked it to and more, riding the trails, to riding the back country, to heavy, heavy towing, it's been great for me.

2011 Honda Rincon TRX680FA
By Bossman@429 (I am an Owner) on May 28, 2011Excellent ATV
Great on Gravel and Dirt roads
Great in the water
Engine could use more power for
Deep Mud Holes, also for steep Sand Hill
Best feature is the 3 speed automatic transmission, would love to see a 5 Speed
with a LOW and High Gear. Plus a Locking Diff ... feature would be nice.
