Cargo tool boxes and LED roof lights set this working Gator apart

John Deere has taken the covers off a Special Edition version of its 2016 Gator XUV 825i that comes equipped with two integrated cargo tool boxes and LED roof lights.

“The Special Edition Gator was designed for those customers who require additional storage to complete the task at hand, day or night,” said Mark Davey, John Deere marketing manager, Gator utility vehicles. “This model will continue to provide customers the durability and productivity they come to expect from a Gator with added amenities like integrated tool boxes and LED lights. The added storage capability makes this a distinct offering in the market, and a first for John Deere.”

Two cargo boxes in the rear offer added storage space for tools and other items. Each can hold up to 75 pounds.

The two cargo boxes are situated in the cargo bed, one on the driver’s side and one on the passenger side. The driver’s side box opens from the top and has two divided compartments with a removable tray. The passenger side box opens from the side and features one open compartment. Both tool boxes boast 75 lb capacity.

Adding some additional illumination are two integrated LED roof lights, which Deere says are designed for customers who are out early in the morning or late at night. According to Deere, the new LED lights use one-quarter the amps of equivalent halogen work lights and last 250 times longer.

LED lights on the roof use a fraction of the electricity of halogen lights and last 250 times longer.

Powering the Gator XUV 825i Special Edition is a two-cylinder 812cc engine that produces a claimed 50 horsepower. In addition to the special edition package, the model features power steering, deluxe cargo box with polyurea liner, integrated brake and tail lights, and Operator Protective Structure (OPS) with nets. The vehicle is also equipped with yellow alloy rims and Maxxis Bighorn tires. A power and front protection package includes power lift, heavy-duty front brush guard and fender guard, along with floor mats. Inside the cab the XUV 825i features a yellow bench seat.

The 2016 XUV 825i Special Edition Gator will be available for purchase in December 2015 with a $16,799 list price. Visit JohnDeere.com/Gator for more information.
