2012 Kawasaki Mule™ 4000

Although this machine is proving to be long lasting based on other reviews, I am still a little dissappointed to say the least. Lets face it, for what I paid (8499.00) I could have gotten a tricked out suzuki smaurai. . .Its puzzling why Kawasaki would not power a machine like this with something ... other than a riding lawn mower engine! It would be much better equipped for the price with a four wheeler engine. Smooth running and a decent amount of torque for pulling, but certainly not ballsy enough to get through "all terrain". At only 1300 pounds even without 4 wheel it should be able to make it through some decently rough terrain, but the truth is that the mule 4000 will easily get stuck in the slightest bit of loose sand even with the diff. locked. . VERY DISSAPPOINTING. Suspension is lacking majorly. . very rough ride. Hydraulic bed although nice to have, but will only result in problems if you dump anything heavy as the ram is positioned on one side which will cause the bed to bend over time. . with all that room and again considering price it could have been placed in the middle for better durability. Another positioning issue is the e-brake. Instead of placing the e-brake on the floor (out of the way) they chose to cut 6 to 8 inches out of the drivers seal side to place the lever. So a 5 foot wide UTV with bench seat barely fits two adults??? And driver had to sit more to the middle uncentered from the steering wheel. . .? Needs alot of changes for $8500 guys!

i have had several utvs and i can say that this is a true work horse with some trailability.its not that fast but,how fast can u go on a true trail ride? i broke my neck and tore both rotator cuffs and found the power stering is truely smooth and comfortable as a car in turns. the steel dump box ... is made for work no plastic here!u can torcher the box with rocks and not have to worry about it breaking and the front storage box is hugh.all in all a well balanced fun but adult hard working long lasting machine.
