The mid-CC segment is responsible for over half of all ATV sales in a given year, so redesigning the Outlander 450 and 570 was an important job for Can-Am. For 2023, the Canadian-based manufacturer has given us a brand new Outlander from the ground up, packing the new model with smart innovations, useful accessories and changing the model names in the process to the 500 and 700 while also adding the new PRO work-focused lineup.
Textron Specialized Vehicles, owners of the Arctic Cat and Tracker brands, has issued a recall for certain Arctic Cat Alterra 600 and Tracker 600 ATVs. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, a problem in the front suspension can cause the A-arms to separate from the frame, resulting in a loss of control and a crash.
By popular demand, Polaris has announced the return of some trim levels and submodels previously dropped from the Ranger and Sportsman lines.
"We are constantly learning from the unique ways customers use our products," said Steve Menneto, President of Polaris Off Road. "From mudding to property maintenance, these vehicles are purpose-built with enhanced features that enable our customers to make the most of their day, and we're excited to bring them back for 2023."
Traveling from one coast to the other is pretty easy in a car or on a motorcycle. Routes like the Trans America Trail make it fairly easy to stick to dirt as much as possible. But Canadian military veteran Matthew Webb is taking the path less traveled, both literally and figuratively.
The cold weather that hit most of North America over Christmas has lots of us shoveling and otherwise working hard to keep Old Man Winter at bay. But Argo sees the cold snap as an opportunity! Argo says it's been out testing its electric ATV, the Atlas, in this weather bomb, seeing how it handles the extreme temperatures.
The Honda TRX250X, formerly known as the TRX250EX, is a nimble handling, peppy running, sporty looking machine that’s great at getting new riders hooked on ATVing. Its reliability allows it to be handed down in families again and again, adding a lot to its value. One of the best things about it is that it’s a machine that younger riders can afford to save up for and purchase. Brand new this ATV costs $5000, but you can find them used for much less.
For many companies the annual Sand Sports Super Show is the perfect event for debuting new ATV and UTV products for maximum visibility and many times customers can take advantage of introductory show special pricing. At this year’s event there were plenty of new items, but even products that have been around for years still deserve recognition. These are our favorite items that were on display at the show this year.
Any ATV or UTV owner worth their salt (or mud, as the case may be) will have some windshield cleaner on hand when they hit the trail. If your rig has a plane of plastic in front of the driver, it’s going to get dirty – full stop. Short of splashing out the big bucks for a wiper/washer from the factory, keeping some UTV windshield cleaner aboard is a remarkably good idea.
Buying a few Honda Foreman 500 accessories is a great way to set your rig apart from the crowd. After all, what’s the point of being a gearhead with the keys to a cool machine if it’s identical to the one your disinterested neighbor owns? Accessories are our way of making a vehicle – including ATVs – uniquely ours.
Adding a set of ATV nerf bars is often the easiest and best upgrade to make to your ATV. Aside from giving your ride a sport look, they add an element of safety to catch your foot/boot in the event you lose your footing on your pegs. Additionally, if you’re riding or racing with others, they can help to prevent another wheel from intruding into the area of your ATV that can cause a catastrophic wreck. In fact, many race organizations and tracks make ATV nerf bars a mandatory item before you can even consider riding or racing.
If you live in a state that allows street legal operation of your ATV or UTV, an ATV horn kit is an absolute requirement. Horns are the best way to make your presence known to distracted drivers and pedestrians as well as wildlife that may stray onto the highway in front of you. A good ATV horn kit also gives you the ability to get peoples attention to see how much you’re having cruising around town as you wave hi, so why wouldn’t you want to have one installed?
An ATV windshield can be a huge bonus to your riding experience, deflecting dirt, rocks, rain, and other debris so you don’t have to suffer through being pelted repeatedly in the face as you blast down the trail. And although the effects would be tough to measure, putting a windshield on your ATV can also help improve its aerodynamics, deflecting some amount of oncoming air around the rider and reducing drag. Sure, that’s only going to show up at higher speeds, as a modest bump to fuel economy and top speed, but every little bit counts.
Winter is coming, and depending on where you live, preparation has already begun. Whether you’re an adventurer to the core and excited about exploring mountainous terrain and deep snow, or looking for agricultural applications better suited to winter climates, ATVTracks.net has got what your ATV or UTV needs for winter weather.
There’s nothing quite like ripping down a dirt trail, fresh air invading your nostrils, the sound of a motor keeping time with your heartbeat… But in order to do this right, you know you need more than just a solid machine – you also need a solid set of tires to ensure your steed achieves optimal performance.
