Polaris Factory Racers Justin Lambert and Co-Driver Jeremiah in their Cognito Motorsports No. 1918 RZR XP 4 1000 took first, while Scott Kiger and Mark Holz earned second in their No. 1934 Coastal Racing RZR XP 1000, and Branden Sims and Tim Krauss finished third in their No, 1913 RZR.

Coming off a Best in the Desert win at the Mint 400, Holz Coastal Racing’s Scott Kiger and Mark Holz in their No. 1934 RZR XP 900 were looking to make it two in a row at the Canidae Tap It Silver State 300. They did not disappoint.
With Cognito Powersports and its RZR XP 4 900 getting the nod to start first, the teams would have to work hard through the typical high-speed, dusty conditions to overtake the leader. Coastal Racing would start right after Brandon Schueler’s Jagged X No. 1919 RZR XP 4 900 setting up a speed dual to take over the lead. With Kiger driving the morning half, he would pass Schueler and all but one of the remaining cars that started in front of him.
Mark Holz Wins Silver State 300 UTV Class
Mark Holz pushed the Coastal/HRP Polaris RZR XP 900 to the Class 1900 win in the Best In The Desert Silver State 300. The competition was tight all day, but when the dust settled, Holz had made time on the leader – the Jagged X RZR – and took the win. After 300 miles and six and half-hours of racing the margin of victory was less than one minute.
“We started in the back and knew the Jagged guys were going fast. All we could do was put our heads down and get to work,” says Holz, who drove the entire race.
Can-Am Racing Report: AMA MX Rd. 2 and BITD Silver State 300
Motoworks/ Can-Am DS 450 racers picked up a pair of big wins this weekend as Joel Hetrick won round three of the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross Championship Series (teammate John Natalie finished third), while Josh Frederick and Collins Webster teamed up to win the ATV Pro Class at the Best in the Desert Silver State 300. Also at the Silver State 300, Team Desert Toyz/Can-Am raced its Can-Am Commander 1000 X to a third –place finish in the UTV Pro class.
“We are thrilled to have both our Motoworks / Can-Am DS 450 racers Joel Hetrick and John Natalie reach the AMA Pro class podium. While Joel didn’t win either moto, he was the most consistent pro racer with two second-place rides, and earned the overall in only his third race aboard the Can-Am DS 450. Natalie’s moto-two victory was also another bright spot for our team and helped him secure third overall,” says Jimmie O’Dell, Race Manager, Can-Am. “I’m also pleased with our Best in the Desert series success. Having our Motoworks / Can-Am team of Josh Frederick and Collins Webster win the ATV Pro class and Cory Sappington’s Desert Toyz / Can-Am X-Team Commander 1000 X finish on the UTV Pro class podium is really a great accomplishment.”
