the best
By JAMES IRVINE (I am an Owner) on Oct 13, 2018I just spent a summer at a remote gold claim in Alaska. I racked up almost 500 miles on an absolutely treacherous, boulder filled trail and my 10 year old 500 couldn't be stopped. I absolutely swear by Artic Cat ATV. Thank you A C.

Bullet Proof
By Longbay Boy (I am an Owner) on Sep 14, 2017My 1997 Arctic Cat got stolen and my insurance company replaced it with a 2008 500 from Bass Pro Shops. My original one need a new carburator at 11 years old.,Ethenol gas got to it. Other than that it never needed anything but oil changes, sparkplugs and filters. The 2008 500 has been great too. ... It was the last year for carburator so I just had to instal a float valve kit. Nothing else but oil , filters and spark plugs. I have relaced the batteries over the years.

junk?
By Dan (I am an Owner) on Feb 24, 2013what exactly went wrong with your 2 cats? i have a 2007 650 auto and a 2008 500 foot shift and aside from regular maintenance we havent spent any access money on these machines. we did have one issue with the sending unit gasket but it was an easy $11 fix. please write back, im very interested in ... what went wrong with your machines. i have SEEN an 08 500 roll over 20 000 km on the odometer without serious problems so your case makes me very curious.

one of the best out there !
By dan turner (I am an Owner) on Feb 23, 2013I bought my arctic cat 500 4x4 brand new in 08. The original goodyear rawhide tires were junk (two were out of round ) but for about 100 bucks the dealer swapped them out for some itp mud lites and back to riding i went . the only real complaint Ive had with this machine is the front brake lines ... are zip tied to the upper A arms and if you dont check them regularly they have a tendacy to work their way into the inside of the rim and rub a hole in the hose . total piss poor design arcti cat ,as well as the plastic elbow on the rear brake resevoir ,that should have been shielded !! Arctic Cat replaced the brake line as it had a hole in it in less than a month ,but wouldnt return calls about the broken elbow on the rear resevoir ! BOTH of these issues couldve cause personal injury or death ,both poor designs on AC'S behalf . that being said, this machine has pulled more than its share of other atvs out of stucks ,in the time ive had it Ive only had it stuck maybe 4 or 5 times . its pulled trucks out of mud ! IT IS TOUGH AND PULLS LIKE A TRACTOR ! my machine has nearly 2000 hard miles on it ,has been very dependable ,a real work horse ,and a great machine overall . im just now having to replace bearings in the hubs ,ive replaced brakes a few times ,and the tie rods and ball joints . DONT BUY EPI BALL JOINTS !! THOSE BROKE ON A SMOOTH FLAT TRAIL AFTER ABOUT 120 MILES !! change the oil and filter as you should ,do regular maintenence and remember any machine requires work at some point and i promise you wont be disappointed in the performance and dominating capabilities of an Arctic Cat atv . my buddy kicks himself for the can am he bought at double the price and it stays in the shop!
