Don't buy one, they're a fire hazard.
By Darein Seminoff (I am an Owner) on Nov 19, 2015I had one, it was a great toy.
But after a short ride this last September it all went south... At the 54 hour mark, after it had been parked just after that short ride it set it self a blaze.
It was a devastating fire and it took a lot of our other stuff with it.
It ... had always been meticulously maintained, and well taken care of in all regards. The day before the fire it was washed from top to bottom, just as it had been many times before.
BRP was sympathetic on the phone, they told us to take what was left to the dealer. We did, after some time they got back to us with the news that they wouldn't be taking it under warranty. The reason being that it was so burnt that they couldn't determine how it caught on fire. After a brief search on google I knew how it caught fire.
Debris easily builds up around the exhaust pipe and after a short amount of time you have a powder keg. Can-Am had this problem with the regular Commander and even released a recall.
But the Max came out the model year after the recall and subsequently wasn't included. But I can tell you for a fact that they definitely didn't fix the problem.
Don't buy one, if you do, heat tape everything. And do not, under any circumstances park it in a shop or shed after you run it. Let it cool down somewhere out in the open.
