I'm now officially a Can-Am fan
By Scott (I am an Owner) on Sep 26, 2015My wife and I purchased this ATV with only 253 miles on it in July, 2015 and since then, we've racked up 350 miles in 2 months with virtually no problems at all. The only maintenance required was the shift linkage needed adjustment after the 350 miles. Other than that, we love the Outlander Max ... 500 XT. This was a $10K ATV when sold new and we basically stole it for $6500. It has a lot of power for a 500 V-twin (40.4 hp) and the ride is superb. I never thought I would like the CVT transmission, since I was a die-hard Honda guy and loved shifting, but I have to say the CVT is flawless and works great. It has the cast aluminum wheels, a charger outlet, factory winch, stadium seating for a second passenger, adjustable shocks, and many other options that are add-ons with other ATV's. It tops out around 62-63 mph with 2 people on it which is fast enough for us. It's a tremendous value and has made me a Can-Am guy. I would recommend this ATV to anyone.

Over Priced
By Brian Davis (I am an Owner) on Aug 20, 2011I love my 2010 Outlander Max 500 xt. But I did not do my homework before buying. It wasn't until after I bought the bike did I come to find out the 650 is not even $1000 more. I was looking for a 500 because I thought it would better fit my price range. Then I went and bought the most expensive 500 ... on the market just to find I could have had a 650 for almost the same price. The 500 is a good bike with the exception of the front shocks. Its not a year old and its on its 3rd pair of front shocks. My feeling is for that money who needs the 500 get the 650, you get more power and a better front suspension. If you realy only want a 500 save yourself some money and get a polaris or artic cat.
