NOT FOR OUTDOOR USE!
By Doreen Lettice (I am an Owner) on Mar 28, 2020We've had our Mule for a year, so this review encompasses all seasons. The Mule was purchased to work on a horse farm. First, I love that I can easily shift from 2WD to 4WD on the fly. No parts have broken or fallen off.
Our model has a windshield, makes it difficult to see when driving in ... the rain. You have to squeegee the water on the outside and wipe the fog off the inside. We also have hydraulics to dump the cargo bed. On the horse farm, we use the mule to muck stalls directly into the bed and dump at the manure pile. Bedding dust and sand from the paddocks gums up the hydraulics. The bed doesn't lift to a steep enough angle and sometimes you have to use a pitchfork or rake to pull the contents out. Wet bedding and hay are heavy requiring many trips to the manure pile so that you don't over work the hydraulics with a really heavy load. In the winter, the battery drains very quickly so you'll need a jump box or spare battery handy. The Mule has made cleaning stalls easier for us, but the Mule itself is hard to keep clean. There are many flat surfaces that collect dirt/hay and are too narrow to get a broom into. The fenders are spaced away from the bed in such a way that collects bedding, hay and dirt and need to be removed to clean out. The steel front bumper gets dinged up pretty bad when it bumps a gate open and the paint is easily scratched.
