Fix for jamming gears - Duraclutch primary and secondary replacement
By Phil Thomas (I am an Owner) on May 27, 2019Hey Ross, if you still have your Ranger contact Duraclutch at https://www.duraclutch.com/ and Stephanie has the solution to your problem.
Polaris don't want to know about it after your warranty expires, so Duraclutch developed a much superior primary and secondary clutch. It solves the ... problem and gives better all round performance.
Sad that the manufacturer won't take responsibilty.

Avoid the Polaris Diesel Ranger 2013
By Ross Griffiths (I am an Owner) on Apr 26, 2018This machine looked like it would be great for work around the farm, like weed spraying in steep or boggy places. It has some outstanding features. But after 4 years I have used mine a total 23 hours! This is because it is really hard to drive when you can't change into/out of drive, or between forward ... and reverse, or between ranges, without turning off the engine. The clutch was replaced under warranty in the first year to solve this problem (along with a horrible noise), and that "solution" lasted a a few running hours, in my case just long enough for the warranty to run out (because I didn't arrange to do anything about it, like arranging truck transport to the dealer an hour away). The replacement clutch had the same problem. Try working with a machine when the engine has to be turned off to change gears, especially when I am working on steep country, where turning is often not safe and forward-to-reverse changes are essential. The fault is dangerous. I had it looked at again by a different dealer who realigned the clutch, supposedly successfully, but $1200 later the Ranger came home with exactly the same problem on the first drive. As soon as the machine warms up (that means the drive/clutch I suppose, since the warm engine revs remain well below the recommended revs) the drive cannot be changed without turning off the engine. Very disappointing. I need to sell this thing. PS. The fault is serious and no one has solved it, so I have to rate Perofrmance as Poor, but the fault persists very reliably so I'll rate Quality as Poor and Reliabilty as good!
