2019 Prowler Pro 4x4
By Mc (I am an Owner) on Apr 02, 2024Bought this new in 2019. It has a very quiet engine, which is one of the main reasons I bought it. It's a very good hauler. I easily toss a 1000lbs of dirt and rocks in the back dump bed plus pull my trailer with a ton of rock in it.
Haven't had any mechanical issues. You need ... to make sure you keep it greased to keep the squeaks down, and keep the oil and air filter cleaned.
There are some major flaws with it. It's made out of plastic. The dump bed is over top of the exhaust muffler, which will swell up in the heat. This swelling of the plastic bed eventually causes it to crack at the screw down points and fail. The bed needs a complete redesign with aluminum, not plastic.
The plastic door and their accompanying metal hinges are not a good match. The latches frequently don't latch and the screws work their way out. Eventually, the plastic wrapped around the metal door hinges fails from the door slamming. Again, a redesign here is needed.
Lastly, the engine oil filter is sideways! So yes, you are going to to spill oil on the engine on a change.
Accessory parts is a whole nother can of worms. Let's just say they are ridiculously priced. This is basically a plastic car that cost more than an actual car. But, it's smaller and has great maneuverability on all terrains. I have the winch option on the front and have pulled out full size trucks that were stuck in mud that this light and nimble 4x4 had no problem navigating.
Overall, it's still a great utility SxS and gets a lot of use on my Ranch.

It performs great
By Bill Helm (I am an Owner) on Jun 15, 2019Mine has a rattle in the front end, bangs almost on a hard Rocky road. It's a suspension problem.I took it back to bass pro shop in Mesa. They said it was normal.
It seems to be okay though.
I like it other than the banging rattling noise.
I sure something is go to fail.
