Nice...with minor issues
By Stewart Blakeslee (I am an Owner) on May 29, 2016Ive had this machine since Feb. I was lucky and blessed enough to have won this machine in a drawing from a raffle for the company I work for. I live in Alaska and the market for "groundbreaking moves" foward in the ATV and UTV market are EVER demanding!... We have the most treacherous terrain known ... to man and therefore make for some of the most demanding scenarious that the "ol' man upstairs" can throw at someone. That being said I can attest that this machine funtionality wise has proven to be a true competetor. Some might say I am biased though because I am an Arctic Cat fan but I beleive I do have some gripes as well to offer that have been MORE than annoying! Upon my first outing I had taken my 700 through some "juvenile" terrain...nothing too serious yet as I was getting used to the machine and was still in awe that I was infact riding the FIRST machine I had ever had with POWER STEERING! lol....anyways light had started to fade and I realized I needed to head home from my bear bait station. Upon turning the headlights on I quickly realized that the lights on the front of the machine were VERY inadequate. There was although STILL some daylight which helped me see the trail...upon entering and exiting a VERY small (puddle) I noticed that my front left headlight had abruptly went out...mind you I had only a few hours on this machine...anyways I flipped to highbeams, to which only lasted about roughly 1min30sec! as it abruptly went out too!...So, upon returning home and sleeping off my frustration, I contacted my local dealer thinking this would be a warrantied issue. To my suprise I was told that this was a common problem with Arctic Cat ATV/UTV's and that it was NOT covered. In MY opinion if one was to infact spend almost 12K on a 4Wheeler, one might figure to NOT have such an issue with something as rediculous as a headlight not working due to MINOR splashing of water up into that area. However upon making this discovery I also learned that it wasnt the ONLY thing NOT covered...NONE of the electrical components are either! The dealer explained that I would have to upgrade to more expensive headlights and would have to make modifacations to the machine to protect the wiring if I wanted to be able to do "serious off-roading" on this machine...I then asked the obvious question "why advertise this machine as being "offroad worthy" if you couldnt infact take it offroad to the extent one might expect??...to which I was responded to with " in order to make this machine what I need it to be, I would have to spend a couple more grand." It IS an awesome machine...but I am ALL but let down by a company that I have sought over for SO many years (I have had NUMEROUS Arctic Cat machines in the past...Snow Machines included). If a company is going to design something and advertise it as being "mud ready"...then i say stand behind it....especially when so MANY like myself continue to see what you have instore for us next!...if your going to make something SO expensive, then make it WORTH the dollar you are asking for it!...I DO love this machine so dont get me wrong...but if youre asking if I would have spent almost 12,000 dollars on buying it knowing what i know now about your service and warrantee specs, you are severely mistaken! Not to mention I have found NUMEROUS screws, nuts and bolts pertaining to the plastic farings missing from the assembly line. I will be writing more reveiws in the future reguarding performance topics...as I am STILL in awe as to the power performance and havent seen yet the FULL potential that this machine has to offer :)
