I live in Wellington, New Zealand (Aotearoa) and was looking at buying a pre-owned Kawasaki Drifter 800. I emailed and phoned Sun to explain what I wanted in regards to a full and detailed pre-purchase inspection of a private sellers bike.
When they got over their original shock of this request, ... from the bottom of the world, Sun understood that I was a legitimate customer and that it was not a scam, Sun's Service Manager Aaron Goodridge was very polite and professional, accepting and understanding of my situation, that I wanted and needed protection from a possible scam, even if there was a little trouble understanding my Kiwi accent.
Sun did exactly what I requested, a full and thorough pre-purchase inspection, this included a compression leak down test, battery and charging system test, brake and fluid inspection, it covered shocks and suspension, lights and wiring, paint and seat condition. Sun also supplied a "book" value for the age and mileage of the bike, advised what defects the bike had and the cost for resolving those faults. Sun supplied a full and detailed written report on the bike.
The best thing was they did this on my behalf, from a phone call and an email, Sun did not want or request payment before the work was done, the price was very reasonable, the service I received was exceptional. I would highly recommend Aaron and the service team at Sun, the cost of the bike and its condition was paramount to the sale proceeding.

People in the Parts department are the rudest we have ever delt with. Parts knowledge is nothing if you are so rude on the phone!
