Yamaha has contributed more than $35,000 in funds and equipment to three GRANT applicants from the last funding cycle in 2014. The final GRANTs of 2014 bring the annual total to more than $225,000, advancing the mission of promoting safe, responsible use and open, sustainable access.

Yamaha Distributes $290,000 in OHV Grants in 2013
Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., awarded more than $290,000 in 2013 through its Access Initiative providing critical funding to OHV communities, riding groups and land managers across the United States.
Yamaha’s Guaranteeing Responsible Access to our Nation’s Trails (GRANTs) are designed to support the program’s mission of safe, responsible riding and open, sustainable OHV access to trails and riding areas nationwide since 2008.
Highlights from the 2013 GRANT year include:
• Yamaha’s Access Initiative was recognized for its achievements and contributions to the motorized recreation community with prestigious awards from American Trails and the National OHV Conservation Council.
• Twenty four projects were funded, bringing the OHV Access Initiative’s total to more than 215 and $2.3 million since its inception in 2008.
• To date, 38 states across the country boast GRANT-funded projects.
• Productive partnerships were forged and strengthened with national leadership in OHV recreation, land management and outdoor enthusiasts including Off Road Business Association, National FFA, Outdoor Life’s Open Country and Tread Lightly! to expand the message of responsible use and sustainable access for OHV riders.
• Yamaha employees personally took on the principles of the Access Initiative dedicating more than 300 man hours in 2013 to trail and forest restoration efforts in the San Bernardino National Forest.
Yamaha Awards More Than $85,000 in First Quarter 2013 GRANTs
Yamaha has approved more than $85,000 through its OHV Access Initiative in the first quarter of to organizations across the country.
“Yamaha has approved new GRANTs (Guaranteeing Responsible Access to our Nation’s Trails) to support organizations that span the country, from California to Vermont, serving the mission to promote safe, responsible riding and open, sustainable riding areas,” says Steve Nessl, Yamaha ATV and SxS marketing manager. “Yamaha’s reach through the OHV Access Initiative is national, but the heart of the program resides in the local communities that enjoy increased family fun and economic development through safe, responsible OHV access.”
American Trails Honors Yamaha's OHV Access Initiative
American Trails has given Yamaha its 2013 National Trails Corporate Award in recognition of its significant, sustained service to trails planning, implementation and recreation across the country.
The Yamaha OHV Access Initiative GRANT program recently celebrated its fifth anniversary in funding projects serving the diverse needs of the OHV community. To date, Yamaha has awarded more than 200 GRANTs and more than $2 million in funding and equipment in pursuit of the program’s mission of promoting safe, responsible riding and open, sustainable access.
“Yamaha is truly honored to be recognized by and to have received an award from American Trails,” says Mike Martinez, general manager, Yamaha ATV and SxS division. “The goals and mission of Yamaha’s OHV Access Initiative are the blueprint for the work that has been accomplished via the program. Yamaha shares this award with the more than 200 individual GRANT recipients across the country.”
Yamaha OHV Access Initiative Celebrates Five Years
Yamaha has announced that its OHV Access Initiative is celebrating is fifth anniversary. Launched in January, 2008, the program has funded the ever growing and diverse needs of the OHV community in support of its mission of promoting safe, responsible riding and open, sustainable access to riding areas.
A few of the highlights of the past five years include:
• 200 GRANTs (Guaranteeing Responsible Access to our Nation’s Trails) and more than $2 million in funding and equipment in pursuit of the program’s mission.
• GRANT-funded projects in 37 of 50 states. The GRANT tracker map showcases the program’s cross-country appeal and highlights future opportunities for underrepresented areas.
• Yamaha employees have personally embraced the tenets of OHV Access Initiative, putting in more than 1,500 volunteer man-hours planting trees, clearing trails and supporting restoration efforts on company-adopted trails in the San Bernardino National Forest.

Yamaha Approves More Than $75,000 for OHV Projects
Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A.’s, OHV Access Initiative has approved new funding that will help seven different organizations across six states.
According to Yamaha, these organizations are helping to implement its mission of supporting safe, responsible riding and open, sustainable riding areas through a variety of projects on the ground level. Since its inception in 2008, the Yamaha OHV Access Initiative has funded nearly 200 such projects across the country.
To date, Yamaha has funded projects in 36 states in pursuit of its goal to support OHV access projects nationwide. This number continues to increase as Yamaha receives quality applications from around the country. New Hampshire received its first Yamaha GRANT (Guaranteeing Responsible Access to our Nation’s Trails) this cycle with funding provided to the North Country ATV club based in North Stratford.
Yamaha Approves Seven OHV GRANTs in Fourth Quarter 2011
Since 2008, Yamaha has awarded more than 160 GRANTs (Guaranteeing Responsible Access to our Nation’s Trails ) in 33 states. The OHV Access Initiative requires a Yamaha dealer endorsement for each application, facilitating interaction between dealers and OHV groups as well as encouraging dealer involvement in important projects across the country.
Yamaha GRANTs Support 4,500 Miles of OHV Trails in 3rd Quarter 2011
“More than 160 Yamaha GRANTs have been awarded since the Initiative’s inception in 2008, but we want to do more,” says Steve Nessl, Yamaha ATV and SxS marketing manager. “The Yamaha OHV Access Initiative has grown into the number one industry resource for the OHV community in its support of riding areas across the country, and we encourage riders and public land managers to work together to identify and submit projects for consideration of a GRANT.”
Yamaha Awards $65,000 in Off-Road GRANTs
As part of its ongoing efforts to support and promote responsible recreation and sustainable access to public lands, Yamaha continues to partner with a number of relevant parties including Outdoor Life’s Save-A-Stream program, and Yamaha has funded several projects that are in line with the Save-A-Stream mission.
“The Yamaha OHV Access Initiative has awarded more than $65,000 toward the construction or rehabilitation of bridges assisting local OHV communities in establishing responsible, sustainable riding and land stewardship practices,” says Steve Nessl, Yamaha ATV and SxS marketing manager. “Land access issues impact every outdoor activity from OHV trails to hunting and fishing, and Yamaha is proud to do our part and lead the way from the motorsports industry to help assure responsible, sustainable access for all.”
