Team ITP racers earned numerous class victories as they competed in round four of the 2013 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship series and round five of the World Off-Road Championship Series.

In Indiana at round four of the ATV MX series, ITP supported racers earned a total of 17 podiums, winning seven classes. The West Coast WORCS UTV racers tallied three podium finishes, including the SxS Production 850 class victory, using ITP tires at the Taft, Calif. event.

“Our Team ITP racers had a wonderful time at the inaugural visit to Wildcat Creek MX in Indiana. Winning seven classes is a great accomplishment, especially at an all-new motocross track. Pro class racer Josh Creamer just missed another podium finish and continues to impress using ITP tires,” says Pat McGuire, public relations / race support. “Our WORCS UTV racers did a great job as well, winning the 850 production class and earning a spot on the highly competitive SxS Pro Production class.”

It’s been a wild first two round of the 2013 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship, sanctioned by AMA, with defending champion Chad Wienen and young gun Joel Hetrick each taking a win. Round 3 of the 10-race series, the Maxxis Bluegrass National, takes place this weekend at the Ballance Moto X track in Bowling Green, Ky.

Hetrick took the overall win at Round 2 by sweeping both motos on his Corrosion Hetrick Racing machine, closing the gap on the series points leader Wienen, now trailing by one. With the speed and determination to lead the field, the twenty-year old has proven he has what it takes to contest the championship.

Wienen will attempt to protect the national title amongst a hungry field of ATVMX Pros. The Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer rider has found himself on the podium at both events thus far and continues to lead the field heading to Bowling Green.

For the first time in his pro career, Thomas Brown has found himself in the championship chase early in the season. New to the Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires & Team Vollmer team, Brown landed on the podium in the third place position each round, slowly looking to secure a spot in the middle.

ITP has added to its lineup of ATV motocross tires with the new Quadcross MX2 froont tire.

ITP calls the MX2 the most advanced ATV motocross tire to date and says it features a revolutionary tread pattern and revamped construction.

Making the tread pattern stand out is a row of dimpled centerline lugs for forward traction, as well as twin rows of angled off-center lugs and strategically placed outer wall lugs for improved side bite. The carcass construction of the new Quadcross MX2 is infused with more natural rubber, which ITP says produces a harder tire compound to improve cornering and straight-line traction. Engineered specifically for motocross tracks, ITP boasts this new front tire delivers more predictable handling and industry-leading side bite.

Can Chad Wienen make it two-for-two to start the ATV Motocross season?

With one wet round of racing under its belt, the 2013 Mtn. Dew ATV Motocross National Championship, sanctioned by AMA is set to visit Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tenn. this weekend for the AMSOIL Spring National.

Defending champion Chad Wienen picked up where he left things off in 2012, as he claimed the overall win at the series opener aboard his Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires and Team Vollmer machine. Wienen currently holds the points lead early in the season, but with nine rounds to go, the defending champ has his work cut out for him with a field of rising talent and several veterans of the sport chasing close behind.

The return of 2010 champion, Josh Creamer, proved to be as eventful as expected as he claimed second overall last round. The BCS Can-Am rider will be competing in the ATVMX Pro National Series full-time for the first time in three years and stands tied for second place in series points with Texas native Thomas Brown. Brown made a statement in Moto 1 aboard his new Wienen Motorsports SSi Walsh Yamaha presented by Maxxis Tires and Team Vollmer ride, finishing second in the opening round, ultimately securing third place overall for the weekend.

Although Corrosion Hetrick Racing’s Joel Hetrick currently sits in fifith place overall, it doesn’t reflect the young gun’s impressive race win at the season opener. Hetrick represents an all-new generation of Pro riders who will be gunning for this year’s National Championship.

The Can-Am Maverick 1000R X rs continues to find success in its first racing, earning two more podiums in recent weeks. James Hill finished second in the SxS Pro Production class at round three of the World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS) in Arizona, while bothers Derek and Jason Murray also earned a podium finish with their Maverick 1000R X rs, racing to a third-place finish in the Best In The Desert (BITD) Mint 400 outside of Las Vegas.

Not to be outdone, BCS Performance / Can-Am pro Josh Creamer let everybody Can-Am DS 450 ATVs are still a force to be reckoned with, finishing second in the Pro class at the 2013 Mtn. Dew AMA ATV Motocross Nationals opening round in Georgia.

“I was thrilled that Can-Am racers earned hard-fought podium finishes in three different series, and in very difficult conditions,” says Jimmie O’Dell, race manager, Can-Am. “James Hill overcame a challenging WORCS course to earn his second podium behind the wheel of the Maverick. The Murray Motorsports team had a spectacular podium finish at the Mint 400 and narrowly missing second-place by only two seconds. Josh Creamer — despite a first-turn crash in the first moto and very wet, muddy conditions — won a Pro class moto and notched an impressive second-place finish overall at round one of the AMA ATV MX series.”

Former AMA ATV Motocross National Champion Josh Creamer has announced that he will be returning to the AMA ATV MX Series for 2013 racing for Team BCS/ Can-Am. Creamer will be using ITP tires throughout the 2013 race season.

Creamer dominated the 2010 ATV MX Nationals for his first major title, and then competed on the West Coast in 2011. He moved closer to his native New England for the 2012 season and won both the Pro and Pro-Am championships in the highly competitive NEATV MX Series.

“Team BCS/Can-Am and I are really excited for the 2013 AMA season,” says Creamer. “With ITP and their great new product on board, this is going to be a great year!”

BRP has stepped up its off-road racing efforts for 2013 with a massive team racers set to pilot Can-Am ATVs and UTVs this year. BRP has added more racing circuits and expanded its UTV racing support to include the new Can-Am Maverick 1000R.

“We have a dedicated and talented group of racers and teams competing under the Can-Am banner for the 2013 racing season. I’m thrilled to have the all-new Can-Am Maverick 1000R in the mix and to have some of our experienced racers pilot the industry’s most invigorating side-by-side vehicle,” says Jimmie O’Dell, Race Manager, Can-Am. “We will compete on Can-Am ATV and side-by-side vehicles across the U.S. and Canada and we’re fully determined to compete for championships in every racing series we enter.”

Can-Am ATV and UTV racers picked up podium finishes in a variety of series this past weekend. At the Ironman GNCC, Cliff Beasley rode his Can-Am Renegade to victory in the U2 class and finished second overall in the morning session, while Tanner Bowles rode his Can-Am Outlander to a win in the 4×4 Open class and Can-Am DS 450 racer Chris Bithell finished third in the XC1 Pro ATV class.

At the final round of the New England ATV Motocross series in New York, 2012 Pro and Pro-Am class champion Josh Creamer earned two more podium finishes. In desert racing, Cory Sappington’s Desert Toyz / Can-Am team recently took a second place finish at the Best in the Desert Bluewater Desert Challenge in Parker, Ariz.

“Can-Am racers recently earned important victories and podium finishes in several events across the country. Cory Sappington’s second-place finish in the Parker, Ariz., was impressive. Josh Creamer battled through horrible mud in New York, to cap a perfect season in the NEATV Pro class,” says Jimmie O’Dell, race manager, Can-Am. “I was proud of the way our racers overcame the mud at the Ironman GNCC. Cliff Beasley was amazing in his U2 class win. It was also great to see 17-year-old Tanner Bowles win the 4×4 Open class.”

Yamaha riders Chad Wienen and Thomas Brown headed north of the border with their YFZ450Rs to compete in the 2012 Montreal Supermotocross in Quebec this past weekend. Wienen took home the victory, while Brown finished second in front of 40,000 race fans.

Four of the top five U.S. national ATV motocross racers competed along with top Canadians. Wienen, who won his first Montreal Supermotocross back in 2009, capped a dream season after winning the AMA Pro ATV championship this year following a severe injury in 2011.

“The competition was definitely stacked this year,” says Wienen. “This is the final big race of the year. It’s always good to win there, and it can set the tone for next season. We went up there and showed them we were on the gas.”

Brown, who finished fifth in the AMA series this year, had the fastest qualifying time in Quebec and chased Wienen throughout the 12-lap main to take second.

With the GNCC returning from its annual summer break, Can-Am racers got back to work and picked up five class victories at the Unadilla GNCC in New York state. In the New England ATV Motocross (NEATV-MX) series, three Can-Am DS 450 racers swept the Pro class at round 10 held in Epping, NH. At the final round of the World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS), Can-Am-mounted racers won four classes in Taft, Calif.

“I was extremely pleased with all of our 4×4 racers’ efforts on the challenging Can-Am Unadilla GNCC course. Having five class wins was a nice way to start the second half of the season,” says Jimmie O’Dell, race manager, Can-Am. “Josh Creamer kept his perfect season alive, winning both the Pro and Pro-Am classes and earning the 2012 Pro and Pro-Am titles. It was gratifying to see Josh Frederick finish second in the SxS Production 1000 class and also take second overall in the ATV Pro ranks. Both he and Dillon Zimmerman put in a solid year for team Motoworks / Can-Am.”

Josh Creamer rode his BCS Performance / Can-Am DS 450 to the 2012 New England ATV Motocross (NEATV-MX) Pro class championship. Creamer won both Pro class motos at Round 9 in Clifford, Pa. to clinch the title.

Several other Can-Am racers, including Cody Miller, Hunter Miller and Joel Hetrick reached the podium in different racing events in the US. Across the Atlantic Ocean, Americans Josh Frederick and Dillon Zimmerman teamed with Frenchman Jeremie Warnia to finish fourth in the 26th Annual 12 Hours of Pont de Vaux in France.

“Josh Creamer put an exclamation point on his 2012 NEATV-MX season, winning both Pro-level classes at round 9 and securing the 2012 Pro class title with three rounds remaining. His approach and determination this year have been exceptional and he has rewarded himself, his sponsors and BRP with a well-deserved championship,” says Jimmie O’Dell, race manager, Can-Am. “I was extremely proud of the way the Motoworks / Can-Am team never quit and battled through adversity in France to earn fourth at Pont de Vaux.”

Motoworks / Can-Am teammates John Natalie and Joel Hetrick ended the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross Championship series with a bang, finished 1-2 in the season finale at Loretta Lynn’s motocross track in Hurricane Mills, Tenn.

“I was pleased with the outstanding effort put in by John Natalie and Joel Hetrick here in Tennessee. Having them go 1-2, and also seeing Josh Creamer finish fourth, at the final round was awesome. Unfortunately, we came up a little short in our attempt to repeat as champions, but finishing second and third overall in the AMA ATV MX Championship points for 2012 is also something to be very proud of,” says Jimmie O’Dell, race manager, Can-Am. “We also had four AMA ATV MX National Championship amateur titles this season aboard Can-Am machines, as Travis Spader won three titles and Ries Parvin earned another.”

The first moto belonged to Hetrick, who also earned the weekend’s Fastest Qualifier award, came out of the gate in second and quickly passed for the lead. Hetrick continued to pour it on and ended up winning moto one by more than 13 seconds. His Motoworks / Can-Am teammate Natalie started the race in fifth, but was stuck in a heated battle for the rest of the moto. He eventually worked his way into fourth place before the checkers flew. Creamer (BCS Performance / Can-Am) was in the same clump of racers as Natalie in moto one, but unfortunately his ATV had a loose electrical connection and sputtered a few times, slowing his push. He dropped back from Natalie and ended the moto in sixth.

Can-Am DS 450 riders had a successful weekend, as BCS Performance / Can-Am DS 450 rider Josh Creamer earned multiple wins at round 7 of the New England ATV Motocross Series (NEATV-MX), while Motoworks / Can-Am teammates Dillon Zimmerman and Josh Frederick finishes second and third in the Pro class at round seven of the World Off-Road Championship Series (WORCS).

“Josh Creamer continued his impressive winning streak in the NEATV-MX series, notching both the Pro and Pro-Am class victories. He’s very determined to earn two class championships on his Can-Am DS 450 in 2012, and we hope he can carry over some of this fortitude to the AMA ATV MX finals at Loretta Lynn’s this coming weekend,” says Jimmie O’Dell, race manager, Can-Am. “I’m extremely thrilled for Motoworks / Can-Am Pro Dillon Zimmerman after he put in the best race of his young career this past weekend in WORCS. He finished a very close second place and clearly has established himself as a podium contender each and every weekend.”

Can-Am DS450 ATV racers headed to Buchanan, Mich. this past weekend to take on the best in the world at the famed RedBud MX track for round 9 of the 2012 AMA ATV Motocross Championship series.

Defending champion John Natalie easily won the first moto, but had to come from behind in moto two after crashing in the second turn. He ended the day third overall and kept his title hopes alive with one round remaining in 2012.

“It was a challenging weekend at the Red Bud MX facility in southern Michigan this past weekend. Defending national champion John Natalie came out strong, taking the moto one holeshot and earning a convincing victory. However, he crashed at the start of the second moto and had to come from dead last. He truly earned this trip to the Pro class podium,” says Jimmie O’Dell, race manager, Can-Am. “We’re not out of this championship race yet, so we’re going to give it everything we have at the series finale at Loretta’s.”

Making his return to the AMA ATV Motocross National Championship Series, 2010 champion Josh Creamer raced his Can-Am DS 450 to a second-place finish at Unadilla, NY.

Creamer was joined on the Pro class podium by defending AMA ATV MX champion John Natalie, who finished third overall. Natalie’s Motoworks / Can-Am teammate Joel Hetrick finished fourth while Canadian Can-Am X-Team racer Richard Pelchat took seventh on his DS 450.

“It was another great weekend of racing, as our Can-Am riders battled hard to earn two spots on the Pro podium in Unadilla, N.Y. Josh Creamer had a memorable return to the AMA ATV MX National series convincingly winning the first moto and ending up second overall. Motoworks / Can-Am pilot John Natalie earned a hard-fought third-place finish and kept himself in the championship points race with only two rounds remaining,” says Jimmie O’Dell, race manager, Can-Am. “Joel Hetrick just missed the podium, finishing fourth, but gained some valuable points in his pursuit to remain in the top three in the Pro class points race.”

Holeshots were critical in New York as the famed Unadilla Valley Sports Center played hard and fast with limited lines to pass. Creamer, BCS Performance / Can-Am racer and current New England ATV Motocross series Pro class points leader, proved he could still run with the top ATV pros as he grabbed the holeshot and immediately pulled to a three-second lead. Creamer held the lead the entire moto on his way to earning his first moto victory in almost two years. Creamer was fourth at the start of moto two, but moved up to second — passing Natalie — at one point before settling for third. His 1-3 finishes were good for second overall and his first AMA series Pro class podium since 2010.
