Ranger RZR 170 designed for riders 12 and up

Polaris Industries Inc. of Medina, Minn. is the first of the major manufactures to introduce a youth-oriented side-by-side.

The new youth Ranger RZR 170 is designed for young riders 12 and up. It features a 4-stroke, air-cooled, 169cc engine with electric start and an automatic transmission. Styled similar to the adult RZR, this side-by-side has a sporty, aggressive look and holds a driver and passenger.

Included in the youth Ranger RZR 170 are all the safety features found on Polaris’ youth ATVs. It comes equipped with removable ignition key, electronic throttle safety control, daytime running lights, side nets, full cab frame, three-point seat belts, color coded foot controls, parking brake, hydraulic disc brakes and speed controls to enable adults to set a maximum speed limit.

The youth RZR 170 looks very much like its big brother.

Polaris says all youth ATVs purchased from an authorized dealer also come with a high-visibility whip flag and a safety video. The Ranger RZR 170 also comes with two DOT-approved helmets and should be in dealerships early in 2009.
