Polaris Introduces New All-Electric UTV

Polaris Commercial, a division of Polaris, has introduced the all-new, all-electric Pro XD Full-Size Kinetic utility vehicle (UTV). Designed to meet the demands of tough jobsite duty cycles, this vehicle provides an eco-friendly solution for all-day operation without exhaust emissions. The Pro XD Kinetic complements Polaris' commercial UTV lineup, known for its durability, serviceability, and safety, while extending operational capabilities to more environments thanks to its electric nature.

Polaris has already established itself in the electric UTV sector with the RANGER XP Kinetic. Building on this success, the Pro XD Kinetic aims to serve commercial customers by maintaining the Pro XD family's key features—durability, serviceability, and safety—while meeting the growing demands for electric vehicles (EVs). According to Aaron Stegemann, vice president of Polaris Commercial, this launch demonstrates the company's commitment to listening to customer needs and addressing environmental and operational requirements.

The Pro XD Kinetic features a partnership with Zero Motorcycles to deliver an electric powertrain that provides instant torque and precise handling, mirroring the capabilities of its gas and diesel counterparts with a 1,250 lbs cargo and 2,500 lbs towing capacity. Its electric nature not only reduces maintenance needs but also allows operation in noise-sensitive areas, enhancing vehicle uptime and access.

Maintenance requirements for the Pro XD Kinetic are lower than those for similar gas-powered vehicles, with scheduled maintenance costs about 60 percent less. The vehicle eliminates the need for oil changes, filter replacements, spark plug maintenance, and clutch upkeep. A Lithium-Ion battery designed to last the vehicle's lifespan is backed by a five-year warranty from Polaris Commercial, emphasizing the focus on productivity and efficiency.

Safety remains a priority for the Pro XD Kinetic, equipped with visible and audible safety features to meet jobsite compliance and improve crew safety. The vehicle's speed can be adjusted for operational compliance, and its quieter electric drivetrain enhances communication and situational awareness on the jobsite.

The Pro XD Kinetic is built to withstand jobsite conditions, featuring heavy-duty components and a robust 14.9 kWh Lithium-Ion battery. It delivers up to 45 miles of range per charge, offering significant fuel savings over gas-powered models. Charging is made convenient with options for both standard wall outlets and fast charging, requiring no new infrastructure for integration into existing operations.
