New UTVs designed for states with 50-inch restrictions

What good is a UTV if you can’t use it on your local trail system? CFMOTO has taken cues from Polaris and Arctic Cat by launching a pair of new 50-inch wide ZFORCE Trail models that are fully legal in states with a 50-inch width restriction.

“Obviously gaining greater access to more trails was a primary driver behind the development of the ZFORCE Trail series,” said Dave Auringer, vice president of sales for CFMOTO USA. “You’ll find that our ZFORCE Trail machines are fun and fast.”

2016 ZFORCE 500 Trail Width

CFMOTO ZFORCE Trail models are designed to be legal in states with 50-inch width restrictions.

Two different powerplants are found in the ZFORCE Trail lineup. The flagship is CFMOTO’s 800cc liquid-cooled V-Twin found in the ZFORCE 800 Trail. This engine features a Delphi electronic fuel injection. Power from the engine is fed through a constant velocity transmission developed by CVTech.

The ZFORCE 500 Trail has an all-new 500HO engine for 2016. This single-cylinder, liquid-cooled four-valve motor is fed fuel through a new Bosch electronic fuel injection system. As well, a new CVTech drive and driven clutch design featuring integrated engine braking is also part of the package. According to CFMOTO, the new powerplant delivers 15% more power and 10% more torque than the 600 engine it replaces.

To control the power, ZFORCE Trail models feature a fully independent suspension system controlled by gas shocks. The shocks boast a piggy back remote reservoir for additional oil volume, which is designed to provide cooler operating temperatures. All four shocks also feature adjustable pre-load, compression damping and rebound control.

The suspension of the ZFORCE Trail models has fully adjustable shocks on all four corners.

Both the ZFORCE 500 Trail and the 800 Trail come standard with a front-mounted 3,000lb winch, LED projector beam headlights with LED accent strips, aluminum alloy wheels, molded roof cab and custom sewn seats.

CFMOTO dealerships are already receiving shipments of the new ZFORCE Trail models. Available in either black or red, the ZFORCE 500HO Trail has an MSRP of $8799, while the ZFORCE 800 Trail retails for $9,999.
